Got laid off today

Most of my team, manager included, got laid off today. Only one coworker wasn’t laid off and she will have to absorb the role of 3 + managing an agency that is horribly bad at doing their job.

Incredibly frustrating given the job market, but I trust it’s for the best, at the end of the day, the culture had turned very toxic and it was difficult to keep a straight head.

How has your life been post surgery?

Has the pain and inflammation improved? Have you had the intense pain come back? Have you gotten into birth control like Visanne or Mirena IUD?

Please share your experiences! I’m scheduled to have my surgery in September (at last, 10 years of advocating) and my doctor popped the suggestion of perhaps getting into birth control after the surgery to prevent the lesions from coming back + the pain and inflammation.

I’ve overall had pretty bad symptoms with pill birth control and copper IUD in the past and I’m currently doing natural planning. I’m in a lot of pain bc of the endometriosis though.

Oil and gas contract jobs: when do they convert to full time?

My partner is working in procurement (1-year contract) at a small oil and gas company. They have reassured him he’ll get a full time, but his contract is due in October, and we’re not sure if his full time will come by then, or if they’ll extend the contract, or else. My partner believes they still need him, so most likely some kind of extension will happen.

Anybody has experienced this?
