Are we becoming obsolete???:(

Mooie reminder om niet te lang inactief te zijn;

So yes, the Xeno seems like a great wheel don't get me wrong.

But it got me thinking, what does it have that the Kingsong S22 Pro didn't offer?

The S22 is not much heavier. It's got 4000w and 2200wh battery. Peak is a bit lower at 8500w and probably that's an inflated number.

But now to the perks of the S22.
It has flat sides for mounting pads.
It has a seat.
The spring and shock are easily replaced to get a custom setup.
The pedals can be adjusted not only in height but they can also be swapped(L-R) to have more weight in the front, make the whole wheel very responsive.
The suspension does take some time to clean the sand out when it's used for offroading. But the good part is that the parts are cheap and the construction is simple and straightforward. Sure, the S22 got a lot of flak for the suspension needing cleaning. But it was the #1 choice for offroading and jumps for quite a while. So naturally it needs a bit more care vs wheels that are kept primarily on pavement.

Now the Xeno is better in some regards. Built quality will be superior. Waterproofing too. More reliable due to better construction, electronic design etc. More durable metal alloys. Better connectors.
Safer with the hall-less capabilities.
Tubeless tire

The downside is it's still a wide wheel. And the pedals are low as soon as you step on it. No adjustment possible. The pedals are shaped in a way that actually catches branches instead of deflecting them.

It leaves me feeling it could have been so much better with just a few different design choices.

Less focus on press photos and more on the real life use would have been nice.

All in all I'm still happy to see Nosfet taking the lead now into making a bit tire wheel and acceptable weight.

It always looks promising. But it often leaves me feeling duped.

Some LED light that promised to work on like 12 to 48v. I attach it to a 36v batter, no life in it. Doesn't work at all. Battery is perfect.

Garden hose connector, metal, looks like brass! Perfect!

I receive it, it's so light... ah, it's just painted aluminum. I try to fit it, screw thread just is impossible to use when a hose is installed.

It's like this at least 75% of the time.
