I'm aware all of them play wildly differently from each other, however all of them are just up my alley. I chose these options for different reasons. Spirit Island for a Big Strategic Game to play during the weekends where I don't feel like playing Bullet, Final Girl for a more tense and action packed challenge, and 20 Strong to play with in between classes at Uni while also looking like a good challenge in general. But I do want to hear what the more experienced people think about these games since I'm still fairly new to the hobby!

Outside of games that require expansions to be played solo (i.e. Skulls of Sedlec), how much do you value getting expansions for a game you like over just getting to buy and experience another game?

I've had this thought recently after reading a comment from a video discussing Board Gaming pitfalls saying "Don't spend money on expansions since that money could be used to buy a new game instead" and it really got me thinking. I really love Bullet and want to get some of the expansions myself, but then thought "yeah, why don't I treat myself to some White Castle or Spirit Island instead?" But then I realized that I'll probably end up just playing Bullet afterwards anyway so why don't I just get Orange+ for it?

I do feel like going with buying a couple new games just to widen the palette, and then going back to buy expansions for your main game is the correct philosophy now though.

On another note would you guys recommend White Castle for solo, lol.

Got Stardew Valley during a sale and tried it out for solo play. A lot of aspects felt pretty clunky playing Solo (*ahem*, mining and legendary fishing,) however I did really enjoy the other main aspects of the game: farming, buying and selling crops, making friends, foraging, and building up resources to finish gouls like the community center or the museum. I was wondering, what other games could give me that feel? A game that could pretty much just feel like you're building up a community and contributing to the lives of people in the game. I'm fine with any theme, there could be one that's themed like Arkham Horror for all I know lol.
