Open Neptune...stuck halfway

Ok, I'm trying to switch my Neptune 4 max over.
I know enough about hardware and mechanical tinkering, nothing about firmware, coding, etc.

I have the chip flashed and reinstalled in the machine.
Apparently the touchscreen, wifi connectivity, and previous IP address are now defunct at this point.

The wiki gives me two options to connect to the printer via ethernet.
The first is via "SSH" (I don't know what this is) and requires me to enter the new IP address...somewhere? I don't know what I'm supposed to be using on my Mac to interface with my printer at this step. Also, I don't know how to acquire the new IP address without the touchscreen capability. The "Angry IP scanner" will not run on Mac. The "DHCP lease table" and "router interface" are unfamiliar terms to me.

The second method given is to connect directly to my computer and configure the "serial terminal" for "1500000 baud". I don't know what either of these mean either.

Has anyone here been through this before, or is there a tutorial somewhere for someone at an entry level who doesn't find any of these things self-explanatory?

Formatting Neptune 4 max for cartographer?

Ok, so I expect to be able to acquire the cartographer probe, manufacture a mount, and install it on my Neptune 4 max. I'm good mechanically, working with hardware.
But I have no concept of how to initiate it's function.
I assume the printer needs to know it's there, and what to do with it.
Do I need to add Gcode? Where can I find information on how to integrate this function into the printer operation? (I'm still using the stock firmware and Orcaslicer)

NH35 for Tuna

For those of you building NH35 watches with the crown at the 4:30 position,
how are you indexing the dial? Since the foot pins no longer line up, are you trimming them all off and super-gluing the dial? Or is there some 4:30 crown NH35 variant that I can't find?

Neptune moving wrong axis when homing

It’s been a while since I fired up the 4 max…

Tried to level it today, instead of moving X- and Y- to go to zone 1, it moves X+ and Z+.
Following this, it just moves Z+ on every zone selection.

Have video, but it doesn’t seem to be uploading here.

AlieX Tuna bezel removal

Anyone have any experience with removing the bezel on these AliExpress "tuna" cases?
I want to replace the crystal with a double dome.
I've got the shroud off.
There is no indent on either the case or the bezel.
I can get my case knife in there and gap it, but it won't release.
I'm trying to pry upward without twisting, I'm paranoid about marring the case.

Do I need a new compressor?

A friend gave me this badger 8 or 9 years ago. He had just bought it for a couple of projects, so it's barely used. So I've finally got around to trying to use it, and it's baaarelyyyy pushing out any air. Like just the slightest whisper. No leaks evident in the chain...bought a new hose and fittings already, to no effect.

Is it done for? Or a lemon? Or are there other fixes I should be trying?

First copper plating attempt :(

Basically just trying to attempt what I've seen on YouTube...

Tank has 1lb of copper sulfate in 5qts water.

Began attempting with six 9vlt batteries in sequence (because it worked for someone on Youtube), then went down to 2 batteries, then one.

Donor metal is folded-up copper foil.

I've tested paper clips, a couple nuts and bolts, a tie bar, etc. (I don't know the makeup of any of these metals, so just seeing what works.)

The paper clips and wires turn black immediately upon immersion in the solution, without current applied.

The tie bar was entirely unaffected.

Other miscellaneous hardware items immediately accumulated an orange deposit which rubbed back off easily. One raw steel item retained a poor orange copper finish patched over about 50%.
