For some reason they removed my other post. I had posted a picture I think Sunday of a red patch on my breast and was concerned about it being a clogged duct or mastitis. It indeed ladies was mastitis caused by a clogged duct . I want to post this to tell you all to be EXTREMELY careful and make sure you’re able to get it treated and get those antibiotics. I went to the doctor on Monday and she prescribed me an antibiotic unfortunately with me being on maternity leave and my health insurance my co-pay for that was $60. I couldn’t afford it until Wednesday In just those two days, I went from pain to excruciating pain with a large Abscessed formed. Spent 9 hours in the ER cause the pain was so bad I was awake just sobbing my eyes out. Now I’m told not to pump on that side unless absolutely have to and if I do do it only every 4-5 hours. My baby doesn’t latch very well he has a shallow latch so she advised me to not to latch in case he is not emptying the breast. My boob is in a lot of pain still and the painmeds they gave me I would have to pump and dump and I don’t want to do that as I already produce just enough for my baby. That’s s all just wanted to rant a bit cause I feel a bit upset with myself that this happened and I feel my supply is going to suffer for it.

Kinda Long. So Friday night I had noticed a small knot on my Areola figured was a clogged duct since I had seen so many. post about it (I’ve never had one or mastitis) well I tried all the things cold compress, dangle feeding, massaging nothing worked. Sunday the are was red Monday I went in area was red and had spread and had streaks going up my boob. Doctor said it had just turned to mastitis. She prescribed me an antibiotic thanks to our wonderful health system and my insurance i couldn’t afford my co pay until today. I’ve started taking it but the redness has now spread to half my boob like underside to and the lump now feels kinda squishy and looks discolored it hurts to even have a shirt etc touch it. I’m struggling to pump/feed I literally cringed and can’t pump for more than about 15 mins on that side. So ladies who have had this what are you doing to get through expressing your milk because idk if I can do thiS and how long does the antibiotics usually take to kick in.

I had my 3rd baby 1 month ago. I have my six week check up next week where I’ll be setting up an appt for tubal ligation. I know in my heart I don’t want anymore kids I’m 29 about to be 30 (I know it’s still young) but I know I don’t want to be raising kids in my 50s and 60s. Also financially and I work 2 jobs etc. However, I dont know why I feel so sad thinking that I’ll never be pregnant again even though I know I’m done.
