What’s one feature phones copied from each other that you actually liked?

Honestly, the fact that iphone can airdrop files/photos to samsung devices is great, like had for years and now android has similar features too, and recently it finally feels less annoying sending photos between those compared to before

This is one of the few “copied” features I’m actually glad became common because transferring files used to be such a pain lol

It feels like every phone should just work together properly at this point instead of locking people into ecosystems

What’s one copied phone feature you actually liked?

Do you think physical game copies will disappear completely?

It feels like we’re slowly heading toward an all-digital future for games more people just download directly now and some newer consoles barely even focus on discs anymore, but at the same time I still get why people prefer physical copies, you can lend them, collect them, resell them, and it just feels nicer actually owning something

Digital is convenient but sometimes it also feels like you’re just renting access that could disappear someday

Do you think physical game copies will completely disappear eventually or nah?

I finally organized my craft room and I feel like a NEW PERSON!!!

OMG, you guys have no idea how happy I am right now! I have been gazing at a mountain of scrap paper, stray ribbons, and incomplete patterns for months, and I finally decided to get organized. I was in love with these totally cute vintage-style file cabinets and spent the entire weekend color-coding everything and now all the things have their little homes. I found the cutest custom labels on Alibaba, and some bright, neon hanging folders at the local craft store, and now everything looks so good together.
I am literally dancing around my room because now I can actually see the floor, and I am just saying it to you, get out there and clean your room. It is so good to open up a drawer and see all the colors all lined in the same manner, there is no longer the need to spend so much time looking for that one shade of teal.
The development of a working workflow has completely lifted my mental fog. You’ve got this and I do swear you will be so much lighter after it is done. It's wonderful to be productive and to have created a space that makes us happy and inspires us to create even more.

Which website still looks like it’s stuck in 2009?

I was randomly browsing older sites and honestly some of them still look completely frozen in time lol, my favorite example is probably Craigslist the layout barely changed in years and somehow it still works exactly the same

Plain text links, minimal images, no modern animations, no endless scrolling, it genuinely feels like opening the internet from another era

A part of me finds it charming though because it loads fast and gets straight to the point compared to modern sites overloaded with ads and popups

What website instantly gives you that “this has not changed since 2009” feeling?

What’s the most useless app preinstalled on phones?

Android phones really love stuffing random apps into new devices for no reason lol, sometimes I’ll open a new phone and there’s already like 3 app stores, duplicate gallery apps, duplicate browsers, random “device optimization” apps, and games i never asked for

The worst part is some of them can’t even be uninstalled properly, only disabled, personally I never understood the point of those preinstalled cleaner/booster apps because they always feel more annoying than useful

What’s the most useless preinstalled app you’ve seen on an android phone?

What’s the most satisfying physical button on a device you’ve used?

Idk why but some buttons just feel weirdly satisfying to press lol, for me it’s probably the old home buttons on older iphones, especially the clicky ones before everything became gesture based

Also I miss the mute switch because it actually felt nice and intentional compared to tapping something on screen…mechanical keyboard switches are up there too depending on the sound and feel. kinda funny how modern devices are removing more and more physical buttons when some of them were genuinely satisfying and useful

What’s the best physical button you’ve used on a device?

Which tech trend feels the most dystopian to you?

For me it’s definitely how normalized it’s becoming for people to emotionally depend on ai bots and I’m not even talking about casually using ai for work or school stuff, I mean people genuinely treating bots like close friends or even romantic partners

Idk maybe I’m old fashioned but that feels incredibly dystopian to me like are we becoming so disconnected from each other that some people would rather talk to something designed to agree with them instead of forming actual human connections?

I get that ai can feel comforting or easier to talk to sometimes, but the idea of replacing real relationships with bots just feels sad to me in a way I can’t really explain

What’s the most chaotic cable setup you’ve ever had?

At one point my setup had a phone charger, laptop charger, ethernet cable, extension cord, monitor cable, wired mouse, and wired earphones all crossing each other like a bowl of spaghetti behind my desk lol

The funniest part is I somehow knew exactly which cable was which until i unplugged the wrong one and everything collapsed, cable management videos make it look so easy but mine always goes back to chaos after like 2 days

What’s the worst cable setup you’ve had?

What’s the most annoying subscription you accidentally forgot to cancel?

Back in my 3rd year of college I had the student subscription for Spotify and I completely forgot it was about to renew

Woke up one morning and saw the charge notification and the worst part was that money was literally supposed to be my dinner budget for the day because things were kinda tight at the time lol, it wasn’t even a huge amount but it still hurt because of the timing

Ever since then I’ve been paranoid about free trials and auto renewals

What’s the most annoying subscription you forgot to cancel?

What’s your most controversial tech opinion?

Mine is probably that most people genuinely do not need flagship phones anymore… it feels like midrange phones got so good that paying insane prices for the newest flagship barely changes the actual day to day experience unless you really care about cameras or heavy gaming

What’s your most controversial tech opinion?

Are “smart” appliances actually making homes better?

Sometime I genuinely can’t tell if smart appliances are actually useful or if companies are just adding apps and wifi to everything for no reason, like sure, stuff like robot vacuums and smart lights make sense to me

But then I’ll see refrigerators with touchscreens or appliances needing an app just to unlock extra features and it starts feeling unnecessary…part of me misses when appliances just did their one job without software updates, accounts, or notifications, it also feels like more things can break now compared to older “dumb” appliances that lasted forever

For people who actually use smart home stuff, has it genuinely improved your day to day life or is most of it just novelty?

What’s the weirdest bug you’ve ever experienced on a device?

I’m talking about the usual stuff like green line screen issues on samsung phones or batteries dying or whatever, I mean genuinely ridiculous bugs that make absolutely no sense

Like devices suddenly working again after smacking the back lightly, apps only opening properly when your phone is charging, or wifi magically fixing itself after restarting bluetooth lol those kinds of bugs where the “solution” sounds fake until you actually try it

What’s the weirdest bug or tech issue you’ve experienced that still makes no sense to you?

What tech trend do you think will disappear in a few years?

Honestly I kinda hope this obsession with shoving ai into literally everything dies down eventually it feels like every app, phone, laptop, and website suddenly needs an “ai-powered” feature whether it’s useful or not…

Some of it is genuinely helpful, but a lot of it just feels forced so companies can say they’re keeping up with trends

Another one I hope fades away is needing separate apps for every little thing, especially restaurants and stores making you download an app just to get basic deals or order food normally

What current tech trend do you think won’t survive the next few years?

Anyone else notice some washing machines don’t use hot water?

I’ve been doing my own laundry for years, so I never really thought much about washing machines.

Recently I used a different one, japanese washing machine, and something felt off. Clothes looked clean, but they didn’t smell as fresh. Towels especially didn’t feel fully clean, and some stains didn’t come out properly.

At first I thought it was the settings, but then I realised the machine doesn’t heat water at all. It just runs everything cold.

That surprised me.

After that I started paying more attention and even checked a few models online out of curiosity. While looking around sites like Amazon, eBay, Alibaba and some appliance stores, I noticed some machines don’t even mention temperature control. They just have automatic cycles.

I understand cold water saves energy, but it feels like you end up using more detergent or doing extra work to get the same result. This especially applies to tough stains on clothes, since cold water or warm water works fine for normal day to day stains.

I’ve tried things like pre-soaking or adding warmer water before washing. It helps a bit, but it’s not as simple.

Is this normal with some machines?

Do you notice a real difference between cold and hot washes?

What old app do you miss that disappeared completely?

For me it’s probably Flappy Bird lol, yeah it was simple and frustrating as hell, but it was one of those games everyone somehow had installed at the time

Kinda crazy how huge it got and then suddenly vanished, it feels like older apps had more personality sometimes compared to how polished and corporate everything feels now

What app do you miss?

What’s your “low-tech” solution to a high-tech problem?

Sometimes the funniest fixes are the ones that actually work like yeah restarting the device solves a lot of things, but I’m talking about those weird low-tech solutions you randomly discovered

Stuff like angling the cable a certain way so it charges properly, tapping the side of something, unplugging and plugging it back in at the “right timing” lol

I used to have earphones where only one side worked unless the cable was bent at a very specific angle, it makes no sense but somehow it worked for months

What’s the dumbest low-tech fix you’ve used that somehow solved a tech problem?

Have you ever downgraded a device and been happier?

Everyone talks about upgrading, but have you ever switched to an older or “lesser” device and actually ended up liking it more

I’ve been thinking about this lately because newer tech keeps adding more features, but sometimes it also adds more distractions, worse battery life, or stuff I don’t even use, there’s something nice about devices that just do the basics well without trying too hard, it feels like simpler setups can sometimes be less stressful to use day to day

Anyone here downgrade something and end up preferring it?

What tech is included in your everyday carry bag?

What tech do you usually carry with you on a daily basis aside from my phone, I always have a 5000mAh powerbank and a pair of wired earphones (went back to wired after my airpods died on me lol)

Trying to keep things simple but still practical for day to day use, curious what you guys carry around, do you keep it minimal or bring a full setup with you?

How do you avoid using your personal number for app signups?

Getting kinda tired of putting my real mobile number every time an app or site asks for it, I get that it’s for verification, but after a while i start getting random spam texts and it’s just annoying having to keep blocking them, it feels like once your number is out there it just keeps circulating

Not really sure what the best workaround is here without breaking the signup process

Do you guys just use your main number anyway or is there a better way to handle this?
