Travelling in Asia with meds…

Hello, does anyone have any experience of travelling in Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand with ADHD meds? I’m heading off for 6 months backpacking and just researching and looks like Concerta/methylphenidate is pretty much banned in all these countries or only allowed to take very small amounts in. I’m on 54mg Concerta XL methylphenidate and panicking …. Thanks all

How to respond to family member who constantly downplays my ADHD and says I’m just taking glorified speed…

So I was diagnosed in March. Prescribed Concerta XL and finished titration and honest truth is it has been life changing for me… life is just easier. More emotionally regulated. Enjoy socialising rather than being in a constant state of fight of flight before during and after. Able to cope better with life’s ups and downs without spiralling. I only have good things to report about diagnosis and medication (thankfully - I know this isn’t the case for everyone). I was masking so well before in front of others that only my mum, dad, brother and boyfriend saw the real me and the toll it all took. Post diagnosis I am now getting repeated push back from my boyfriend’s family, particularly his dad who has strong opinions about adhd and medicating it. His mum just ignores it and goes quiet if it comes up as just doesn’t believe in it. I’ve been biting my tongue when he says things like ‘everyone and his dog is diagnosed with adhd these days’, ‘is it even a real thing’, ‘medication is basically speed - no wonder you seemed hyper the other night’ (seemed hyper as was anxious what he was going to say next). But it’s starting to really get to me. This has been huge for me and so positive and lifechanging I just want to shut this down. But he’s a controlling man with strong opinions and he can be scary. Have to add my boyfriend of 4 years is now really supportive (initially think from brainwashing from parents was a little unconvinced but is now firmly on board), speaks very positively if asked what impact it’s had on me and really can see the improvements and benefits. Has supported me massively over the last 4 years. But he has a complicated relationship with very controlling parents and will only speak up when really he really needs to as they don’t tolerate any backchat with out it becoming a major issue. (he has stood up to them in the past about other things to support me/us and the fall out is horrible). I don’t want to cause him stress by asking for him to deal with this, I feel like it’s my thing to sort. Any advice?
