Going to the USA for masters, what should I do with my Indian sim?

I am going to the USA for masters (2+ years). I have an airtel sim. What should I do about it?

I get bank OTPs and my other government docs are all linked to it. Every internet account is also linked to it for OTPs/authenticators.

I was thinking for giving it to my parents.

But I read somewhere we still get messages in the USA on Indian sims, is it true?

Also how do I keep it active? Do I need to keep recharging it? What's the best way for this?

Best Forex Card for USA F1 Student

Hi all. I wanted to get a forex card. I am an incoming f1 student.

The plan is to mainly carry cash and some minimum amount in forex (around 1k usd) for the initial months in the country. I will create a bank account there later and won't use the forex after that.

Any suggestions for good forex cards for my case?

I have come accross HDFC ISIC, Scapia and Zenith till now.
