But i am so sick of seeing people who claim to care about the region or claim to be punk embrace hate. I feel like hate5six does this a lot, focusing the ire not on Zionism but Jewish institutions. By blaming Jewish people rather than Zionists you give space to people like tucker carslon and other white supremacists who ally with chirstian zionists who want to demonzie a minority group instead of the ideology itself . IT also ignores the existence fo antizionist jews like JVP, anarchists against the wall, and individuals like Norm Finklestein who have protested zionism for decades. While it should be acknowledged that a lot of more mainstream jewish groups are zionist, it is not inherit to judaism like hate5six likes to imply in multiple posts
From my understanding there are way more christian zionists than jewish zionists, yet on hate5six's story i only see him criticize jewish people and not Christians. Coupled with his reposting of people using neo nazi symbols (triple partheneses) and AI Misnformation i dont know why so many bands in the scene are okay with this kind of shit. Its frustrating that this guy keeps posting hateful shit and bands in the scene seem to not care about it
I find it very telling that Hani who runs Gaza Soup Kitchen Hani Almadhoun doesnt post this kind of hateful rehtoric. He can condemn zionism as a racist white supremacist colonial force without tying all of judaism into it , and acctually responds if you ask him questions (unlike hate5six) If somebody who is experincing direct and massive trauma can avoid hate idk why a guy who used to work for raytheon gets a pass in the scene for posting hateful shit on a consistent basis
Looking for any good causes to support, some fundraisers. Also open to more stuff than that like lgbt rights and abortion access. Part of why i like the emo scene is these kinds of shows tend to happen more often. Im RVA based for refrence
Do the story in these games matter?
Does the first game , in its kill the forest folk mission handle themes of genocide against indigenous people well (i.e its condeming it by showing your party as not nice people) or does it condone it (provie an excuse like the remake of the first one?)

Hey been playing through explorers of sky and really liking it. Thinking about trying the shiren series next , probably the DS port of shiren 1. I was also intersted in Shiren the wanderer 4 but pretty quickly soured on it due to the racist art in the games. For those who have played, is the game worth playing despite these racist charecter designs. Does the story of the game itself feel racist. Does this game having racist art effect your enjoyment of other mystery dungeon games? Do the later shiren games have better representation of non japense charecters?
I still am liking my time with explorers of the sky but it does stink to think that the writer for the game was a supervisor for shiren 4, but honestly idk how much a supervisor has a say in the art and he didnt write the story for shiren 4. Sorry if this seems weird i just tend to tweak about these things. I really like the writing and vibe of exploers of sky and its hard for me to process i guess that good creators can do bad things like the racist art in shiren 4 but that is life

Especailly to use the three parentheses which is an antisemetic dogwhistle that emerged in online spaces after a white supremacist shooting is just sick to me. While we should center the muslim victims, i dont think using the tripe parentheses is the way to criticize this media coverage. And i just cant believe that someone as online and active as hate5six doesnt know what those mean. And even when people call it out people are so dismissive i frankly think it makes the scene look bad and like they dont care about antisemitism orr standing up against white supremacists. Wish more bands would unfollow and call this out or at least try to reach the dude in some way and get him to stop posting white supremacistg dogwhistles
First off just want to say I am not trying to downplay or deny the genocide in Gaza. It needs to end and settler colonialism needs to end across the world but especially in Gaza and the West Bank . I think most bands in the emo screamo scene have done a great job of advocating for Palestine without going down antisemetic rabbit holes. However a lot of bands follow the punk videographer hate5six who genuinely has fallen down the antisemetic rabbit hole. Posting essays says all Jews are responsible for the genocide and shit like this post. You don’t have to downplay or ignore antisemitism to call out genocide and the Israeli government. There are people on the right like Nick Fuentes Tucker Carlson and Candence Owen’s who are using Israel’s genocide to push holocaust denial . I’ve seen soap comments and kill all Jew comments on his page and he doesn’t say a word. It bums me out to see so many bands I like still follow this guy because this kind of rhetoric should be unacceptable in the punk scene.
Why do we need to not care about one form of hatred to stand up against another? When has picking and choosing what to care about been what’s punk is about? Why in the 1990s were bands like Dropdead able to make songs calling out the genocide of Bosnians by Serbians without defending anti Serbian attitudes? Does this dudes political posts matter more than the concert videos? Am I tweaking or is this a valid frustration?
