How should the 3DS titles be re-released?

If Atlus decides to make another collection like the Origins collection for the 3DS titles, how should they go about? An idea i have is to make an Untold collection with Millenium Girl and Fafnir Knight (which should get all DLC bundled in) alongside a third game, maybe EO4 or EMD, then later a collection with 5 and Nexus, plus EMD2.

Buy a single game in the remaster collection or buy the collection?

I've wanted to get into the Etrian Odyssey series for awhile now and the game is on sale, I'm trying to be smart with my money but was wondering if the entire collection is worthwhile or if one game is above the others and is considered the best.

Is Etrian Odyssey Origins collection worth it?

I’m about to pull the trigger on a heavily discounted Etrian Odyssey Origins collection on Switch. I’ve only ever played the original Etrian Odyssey on DS (well… a DS game on a 3DS but same thing really). The bundle is only $31.99, down from $79.99.

Thoughts? It’s either I buy the whole bundle or the Switch version of the game I’m already playing.

Worth it for this Etrian newbie…ish?

The team gassing a bug and shoving a Drive Blade up it's ass

Welp, my EO4 run is done until I rerun it for a let's play forum style deal. I might as well make a little epilogue for my party on what they get up to after defeating the Warped Fraud.

Listen to this if you want to read this entire essay if you want.

The shadow that found light, Shade Samuel: After the Warped Saviour fell, tears came to his eyes, the cult that made him into a killing machine, who's only goal was to bring dread and suffering upon the people of the empire, had their false messiah slain. No traces of the horrific organization now remained in this world. He was truly free from all the suffering he had endured all those years ago. Bridget hugged him as joyful tears fell down his face like a stream that brought life to the people who came to collect it's refreshing waters to drink from, washing away their anxieties and allowing for a brighter future to be achieved. He looked upon the medic, who so many years ago, teased him as a small child, now hold him within her arms, rejoicing in the joy he felt, she shed a tear knowing that the man she cared for so much could finally live happily with her sister, having shown beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was worthy of marrying such a beautiful woman.

The wedding day came for Samuel to wed his fiancee and all the companions they made along the way were there, Vessel, Sentinel and Imperial alike, alongside a group of adventurers who was run by a girl who started out as a mere pickpocket on the streets, trained by Samuel into becoming a high-class adventurer who could lead her clan into victory against any monster who dared stand in their way. That girl offered to walk beside him as he walked down the aisle to his wife with unshakable pride that her mentor could have such a joyous face after all the tribulations he faced. The ceremony was joyous and filled with life as the guild and all their friends celebrated the occasion.

Afterwards, he settled down with his new wife, opening up a academy for people to learn his Nightseeker fighting style, as he guided those who felt lost and alone to find new purpose in their lives as he was able to find all those years ago.

The Farming Link Daniel: After defeating the Warped Saviour, he was able to use the vast amounts of wealth he had gained from exploring Yggdrasil to expand his family's once meager and humble farm in the countryside of Euchronia into a vast field with an abundance of crops and animals to raise, bringing them greater fortune than before he set off with his little sister Elizabeth. He laid down his sword and took up the hoe again as the farmer he was before he became a world-renowned Landsnechkt. He never did marry, but he did adopt a little eugief girl he found on the streets one day as his daughter and loved her very much, even as he grew old and she took over the farm.

Runic Prodigy Elizabeth: Even though she wasn't a part of the final delve into the Hall of Darkness, taking up an apprenticeship just after the guild beat Kibagami and obtained the Twin Fang Scroll, she showed a level of magical aptitude that was unexpected for somebody who had hitherto never cast a tune before even once in her life. This piqued the interest of a witch who lived on the outskirts of Tharsis and offered to train her to become the best Runemaster in all the lands. At first she was skeptical, but the offer turned out to be genuine as it showed she was a true prodigy in the art of casting spells and her skill became known all across the lands after she was finished with her tutelage under the witch. Her skill became so well known that after many years, a noble family hired her to teach their son the ways of Alchemy to become a great mage like her.

Graceful Dancer Samia: With her adventuring career now properly over, she got married to her Sentinel husband she met when the guild first arrived in the Sentinel Village in the Sacred Mountains. She opened up a college of arts to help spread the joys of music, dance and various creative arts to more people who weren't born in such a privileged position as herself. This college would come to be well-renowned across the world for the quality of their alumni and for taking in promising students no matter their background. This helped raise the number of Dancers and Troubadours spreading joy across the world.

Miracle Worker Bridget X Binding Shepherd Mizang: After everything they had gone through, the Heavenbringer, the dragons and the Warped Saviour, they truly felt they were both each other's soulmate, brought together after Mizang saw her beauty and resolved to aid her help Samuel get the blessing needed to marry her sister, in the end, she ended up finding her own sweetheart on the journey to help two lovers be able to get together. Their days were spent ever so joyful within each other's presence, watching as their children grew up, eyes looked up at the air in nostalgia as they recounted their journey with wonder in the kids' eyes. They could've never asked for a greater reward than each other's love for conquering Yggdrasil.

The legend of the guild Einherjar would be spoken of for many more years to come, even after most of the members had breathed their last and left the mortal coil, their names would still be spoken of. Many would wish to brave the path they had walked down and came to Tharsis in hopes of walking in their shadows. The tale of Einherjar even inspired Samuel's own daughter to explore the world before she eventually took up control of the trading company her grandfather controlled. The effect of their assistance in creating the new generation of explorers was so immense that a new fighting style was creating as an offspring from Nightseekers, the Dark Hunter, focused on binding an enemy's body parts to prevent dangerous attacks from going off, inspired by the torture that Samuel suffered whilst he was still in the cult. An unlikely origin, but the class was strong enough that Dark Hunter style of fighting is offered alongside the Nightseeker style of fight if one so desires.

Many years later, as the tale of Guild Einherjar became a song told on the lips of Troubadours as they travelled across the lands, a new set of explorers came upon the island town of Etria. A disgraced Ronin eugief who was the only surviving member of a dead clan, a spiteful Alchemist who wandered the lands alongside a joyful Clemar Troubadour who was always in the brightest of moods, a Dark Hunter who was the granddaughter of Samuel and a mustari Medic who had lived in the town prior, would meet up one fateful day, and rediscover a secret held underground for millenia within another Yggdrasil that contained echoes of a time long lost. But that is a tale for another time

Bridget, Leader of Guild Einherjar - "Pleased to serve!"

Hope you enjoyed my long-winded fanfic of my guild, I'd love to hear what your guild got up to after beating the EO4 Yggdrasil.

(Solo Challenge) The next adventure

I was having the roughest time with post game in EO4. Spent months being stuck at the same spot. I think it’s still possible, but I’ve given up on that. Main game was beaten and that was my original goal.

I’m now starting the Solo Advanced difficulty challenge for EO5. I’m sure others have done it, so now it’s my turn! I’ve never played this EO before so I’ll also be learning the game as I go. I’m excited and will post significant progress when I make it.

I feel disgusted at the power I wield.

So I'ma just nerd out about my guys for a bit on their builds and their stories since when I looked through their stats, it was just shocking.

Shade/Samuel: Former cultist assassin Nightseeker/Imperial who has found love with my Medic's sister and it going to fully wipe out whatever remained of the foul cult that raised him. An absolute powerhouse that can hit like a truck normally and then when an ailment is on an enemy I like to imagine he reacts like that one deku street tier meme whilst preparing his charge blade.

Daniel: A happy-go-lucky Landsnechkt/Runemaster who came from a farm with his Runemaster sister to reach Yggdrasil. Another monster who sets up Improved Link and then gets multiple attack in within a turn that were further boosted by Elemental runes that were cast by my Medic/Runemaster.

Samia: A graceful and serene Dancer/Bushi who comes from fantasy Middle East or something and gives me Habibi-el-slut vibes I guess. Setting up Chase Samba and Rush Dance when paired with my Landsneckht adds so much damage that is even further packed on with Blood Surge to pack on even more damage.

Bridget: A well-mannered rich kid Medic/Runemaster. Her main use is to keep my party alive and well during the battle and now with Auto-Heal and Auto-Revive being maxed out..... Yeah I have a good feeling she'll be blasting off more Origin Runes than healing people.

Mizang: Last but not least, an aloof and slight goofball of an Arcanist/Nightseeker. Currently dating Bridget after getting together midway through the 4th Labyrinth. He hit 99 Luck all by himself without any stat books or equipment. Wow, just wow. He applies the ailments that makes Samuel pull the Deku street tier face and then helps out in his own little way through using Shadow Bite to attack and or using binding circles to lockdown attacks made by the enemy.

Overall, this might just be my most synergised team out of all the EOs I've played. All the other ones had a few powerhouses who laid down most of the damage, a healer to keep people alive and a buffer/debuffer who provided support for the party. I really like how this little squad came out.

Solo Medic Storm Emperor EO1HD

This is the swan song, the final Superboss I can use Medic for in the solo run journey! Storm Emperor is hands down the easiest of the three dragons, and honestly is a bit of a pushover. The reason she is so easy is because of her simple AI- of her 4 attacks, she cant use two unless shes bound and cant use one of the remaining more than once in a row. What this means, is that she ends up spamming voltage (Strong lightning breath attack)-corrupt (nullifies party buffs) on repeat. That said, this is a RNG Manip fight. On turns where she is supposed to use corrupt, she has an 80% chance to use corrupt and a 20% chance to use volt breath again. Realistically, its doable without a manip, but I am very excited to get cracking on primevil and wanted to get there sooner! I may come back eventually to beat her without the manip, but for now I can be proud of how far the Medic was able to go in the run- Everything up until this point minus Great Dragon was completely medic solo (give or take a gathering party)

My humble EO collection

Been a fan of Etrian Odyssey since I learned about it in the early 2000s. The idea of drawing the map immediately brought memories of messing up with pen, papers and coordinates on Wizardry for SNES. Unfortunately I left gaming again a few months before EO3 launched until a couple of years ago when I bought a Switch later found a 3DS at a good price. Since then I've been getting the Etrian games I was missing, the latest one being V which I got a month or so ago. Now I guess I'm missing the MD2 and EO3 which I believe is the most expensive one. If I had kept gaming for just an extra half a year!

It kind of makes me sad that we haven't seen a new Etrian in 8 years, or that we never got a proper US/EU release for the Origins Collection.

By the way I also bought both Persona Q which run on the same engine, should be here in a couple of months though not sure if I will be opening them though because they probably are bitrotten by now (which also makes me sad).

Party Retire Help

I wanted to try and retire my group with the same team set up. Going into the third stratum and wanted to see if the stat boost would help. I wanted to ask if there any skills I should change to make the party more smoother or more better. Thank you for your time!

Playing EO1 3DS but thinking of buying EO3 on the Switch

How different are the mechanics on EO3 from what I’m used to with EO1 on the 3DS? I seem to remember reading that one of the Etrian Odyssey games in the series was quite different in its mechanics but I can’t remember which. Was it one of the later games: EO4, EO5 or later?

I ask because EO3 on the Switch is on sale, something like $15 instead of $40. Very tempted

I beat the penultimate superboss in Etrian Odyssey 1 with a solo protector!

I've been working on a solo Medic run of Etrian Odyssey 1 for about a month. I managed to beat the final story boss with it, but thats just about as far is it can go- with the exception of *maybe* one other optional superboss. Protector had to step in for the final two bosses, but this still wasnt easy by any means- I spent nearly 20 hours of work over two weeks on this one boss!

EO nexus thoughts so far

Hello!
I’ve started playing Etrian odyssey Nexus and wanted to talk about it a little bit since I’m having a lot of fun ngl.

I’m currently going through the later parts of South shrine and to my understanding there’s 14 main story dungeons? I’m having a lot of fun but I’m questioning now about how much of commitment I’ve made here lmao.

From what I read online some people had issues with the labyrinth selection of which again I have not seen all of them but I do understand the criticism of there being several dungeons that are forests, woodlands and generally plant heavy areas back to back and I do feel it would work better if they were spread more and mixed in with other dungeons from other games than just being the first dungeons all grouped together(From what I understand Primitive jungle and Waterfall wood are also their games starting areas?).

Speaking of length and content am I correct in assuming this game is like Monster hunter Generations ultimate/MHXX but for EO? In that it has a lot of content from previous games and serves as a celebration of everything that came before but not all of the content is good while overall having a very solid presentation and gameplay experience? MHGU is one of my favorite games and EOX is giving a lot of the same vibes

My team is:

Zarnia(Hero)

Zafir(Sovereign)

Lyudmila(Gunner)

Miko(Shogun)

Merah(Nightseeker)

I picked these classes because I hadn’t used/Seen them before in EO5/4. I wanted to shake things up since i used Landsknecht teams in those games. I didn’t know how strong those classes were until I looked on gamefaqs what skills i should be investing in lmao.

This team is really fun especially since they are getting their latter skills and becoming more powerful. I never played 2 or 3 so idk but was Gunner and sovereign always this good? Like throughout the whole game? Cuz they seem like they are solid throughout the whole time playing this game so far. I just got a skill called Clearance on my Sovereign that lets me regain TP per dispelled buff or de buff and I’m still astonished at that lmao.

I guess that reminds me of MHGU in another way in how balancing is kinda wack(in both good and bad ways).

Thanks for reading I’ll probably update again at least north shrine or whatever the 10th labyrinth is who knows lmfao.

1st time playing EOV, Warlock or Necromancer for party?

Can't decide which Celestrian class to add. Necromancer sounds really cool but maybe Ill be missing out on magical damage with my party?

Party is Pugilist/Dragoon/Botanist/Masurao

I'm not tied to my Dragoon but I want to use everyone else.

Thank you, Atlus

Running a "hyper-glass cannon" team here.

Imperial, Highlander and Landsknecht on the front. Survivalist and Ninja on the back. This team erases or be erased by bosses, a true Etrian Odyssey 2 experience on Nexus, I think.

When I say hyper, I mean it. My methods of healing include: Survivalist Resuscitate (only outside battle), Efficiency+item use, Highlander's Turning Tide and Amateur Savior. Yes, I still use the bullshit 1 HP revive/10 TP cost accessory 3 islands into the story!

As for tanking? There is no tanking, baby, it's all accuracy reduction and evasion buff!:

Survivalist: Trickery+F!Illusory Formation+Chain Dance+Mirage Arrow... Oh and Quick Step

Ninja: F!Diversion Gambit+Phantom Swords.

This plan serves me great, until one or several dumbasses get a status ailment or Leg Bind. So I was elated when I got the Cheer Blade+5 for my Landy (it has the skill Mind Vigor which increases resistance to negative effects), but as you can see in the screenshot it's less than consistent

In hindsight, I probably should've gotten Battle Instinct from my Highlander... but I feel if you're not a Harbinger with Miasma Wall/Spirit Barrier, nullifying negative effects in Nexus is often a matter of luck

I can't wait to unlock >!subclassing!< so I'd have more breathing room to work with

I’m a goof

I’m playing the first game for the first time in a very long while. One thing I remember from back in the day is that I’d get creative with the names of my party and then forget their class. I tried naming them after their jobs. That was better

Now for the goofy part. I decided to name this crew after characters in NCIS. Ducky’s a medic, McGee is an alchemist, Tony and Gibbs are fighters and so forth.

How do you go about naming YOUR party?
