Paddleboarding Niobrara River-Nebraska

I’m thinking about planning a trip to float the Niobrara and would love some advice from people who have actually done it!

I used to live in Colorado and did a lot of river floating on my paddleboard around Grand Junction, Palisade and Fruita. I really miss being able to throw the board in, float for a few hours, have a couple beers and actually let the current carry me instead of paddling the entire time.

I live in western South Dakota now, and Rapid Creek definitely does not scratch that itch 😂 so the Niobrara looks like it might be exactly what I’m looking for.

For anyone who has floated it:
• What stretch would you recommend, especially for a paddleboard?
• About how long are the different floats?
• What company is best for shuttles?
• Any good campgrounds nearby?
• Is there a particular time of summer when the water level/current is best?
• Anything I should know before planning a trip?
• Any favorite stops or places along the river that I definitely shouldn’t miss?

Basically, if you were planning a weekend trip out there specifically to float the river, what would you do?

Would especially love to hear from anyone who has paddleboarded it rather than just tubed/kayaked!

Going to mystic lake amphitheater!

A few friends and I are headed to Mystic Lake for Hilary Duff in a few weeks. I have a few questions, that I’m hoping can now be answered that they’ve been open and done a few events. We have tickets for general admission, no chairs.

  1. What is the average pricing on drinks? For alcoholic as well as nonalcoholic? What are the options?
  2. I plan on bringing a small comforter for me and my two friends, do you think they will allow that or no?
  3. I know after a few drinks I’m gonna want to hit my vape, is there a smoking section?

can you bring in your own empty water bottles? Or unopened sealed water bottles?
5.

  1. Any other thoughts, advice, or just general info that you think I should know would be greatly appreciated! TIA!

Half day starting tomorrow!

I am passing through and got a camp site inside Yosemite! I didn’t know I was going to be able to pass through, so I didn’t make any plans. I have researched a little about the shuttle, I will be in Hodgdon Campground and not sure if that’s even close to the route. I need to leave Yosemite by like 5, but I don’t mind waking up early. I’m thinking doing some shorter walks to see more rather than a big hike to see one thing. How do you guys recommend I navigate through Yosemite? I will be entering from Nevada and I’m headed to Southern California. If you have recommended routes, or places to hit first to avoid crowds, I would love it!
