Grounds from Associate Cricket, Day 3: The King George V Sports Ground, Castel, Guernsey.
This is the KGV Sports Ground, established in 1935 with the first Cricket match there taking place in June 1939(and this ground was subsequently essentially destroyed during the German occupation of the island in WW2 and had to be rebuilt almost from scratch).
This ground is situated in the British Crown Dependency of Guernsey, right off the coast of France in the English Channel.
The second slide is the pavilion which was opened in 1986 by none other than Princess Anne(the sister of the current British King and the sole daughter of Queen Elizabeth) herself and was redeveloped later from 2016-2020.
Here is the ground in all its glory at the Finals of the 2024 T20 WC Europe Subregional Qualifier C between Guernsey and Denmark. (Guernsey beat Denmark by 6 wickets and went on to play the Europe Regional Finals courtesy a 65-run partnership in 41 balls between Stokes and Butler(yes) for those interested about the result)
