Switching my game from paid to free

Hi all,

I am currently considering to switching my game from a paid version to free. It feels like it is at the end of its life span. I have sold it well over 1.000 times and the average price was 5 USD. Now even with a high rebate, I sell maybe 10 per cycle.

It was never for the money so I feel like giving it out for free would be the next good step. Any suggestions or other ideas on what to do with it? Is that even technically possible? Right now I just want people to keep playing the game I spent years developing :)

I understand the argument "but people paid for the game before" ... but on the other hand, wouldn't they be just as insulted when I put a high discount on the game?

I don't want to turn this post into a commercial but if questions arise: It is a 2D JRPG called "Tales of Vogar".

Game performance decreasing at 15-20k investors

Hi everyone,

I play Anno 1800 on my computer, fairly new GPU and CPU - however "only" 16 GB RAM and game is installed on a HDD - playing at 1080p.

Lagging started when I played on "ultra" settings with the first season pass DLC and the massive new island - with in total roughly 20k investors. So I reduced the graphics to "high" and it starts going down to 30 fps again.

Now I wonder: Could it be I have not enough RAM, is it the HDD and I should install the game on a (new) SSD since my old one is full? Or do I need a high end GPU&CPU combo for such a high amount of inhabitants?

Hi all,

is it just me or are many items from the workshop at least for the start not really helpful?

We just started playing, roughly 20 hours in and lvl 25. I bought the first pickaxe and thought that I could get rare minerals with it - nope. I bought the shengong oxygen tank and it comes empty - filling it up, I could just use a oxygen bladder.

The only thing I bought and was helpfull so far was the backpack that gives more inventory space - however that rarely fills as I am capped on weight.

We only do missions so we always start from scratch. But what good is an pickaxe that I can craft 30 seconds in the game and is almost the same AND easier to repair?

Maybe I'm just not getting it yet?
