Apartment Hunting with Three Cats

Moving from Cape Coral, FL to Appleton as soon as the house sells, and looking up apartments and rentals in the area and finding that most places only allow up to two cats. My husband and I each have an ESA, but the third cat is not. I know most places can’t tell you no if they’re an ESA, but I fear the third cat not having that immunity is really gonna screw us over.

And rehoming them is not an option.

Anyone have any idea how to go about this? My cats are well behaved; don’t claw at things, don’t pee on things, they just eat and cuddle.

Short term living

My husband and I are selling our Florida home and moving up to the Fox Valley area. Original plan was to get an apartment (Toonen management) and then live there for like a year and then find a house.

But now husband asked if I’d just want to buy a house. Which I’m open to, but we’d need to find a temporary living situation in the area so we aren’t flying back and forth to look at homes.

So, are there any short term living things around? Month to month works, or 6 month is fine too. I just don’t want to rush into buying a house because we can’t afford to live out of a hotel/airbnb in the amount of time it takes to find and close on a house. Also, we have 3 cats, two of which are ESAs.

Husband’s first MID

So my husband has been playing all of the games with me pretty closely in order and he’s been really enjoying them. There’s been maybe one or two that he was like “eh. Didn’t really care for that one but it was okay”. We had just finished Labyrinth of Lies and watched the teaser for Sea of Darkness and I told him that he’d probably really enjoy that one and it’s also the last decent Nancy game. So he decided he wanted to save that one for last.

We queue up MID and I give him a little of the history of how the community feels about this game and what happened to it during production. He immediately hates it lmao. The art style, the controls, the VA, the floating houses. All of it lmao. I did show him the fun bug of calling Deirdre while looking at her and the contestant winner. But he only got as far as picking the Judge’s lock before he had to tap out

I said we can skip this one and just watch it if you want. It’s kind of a tough play. He said he still wanted to be able to say he’s played them all. Few of his favourites are most of the golden era like Last Train, Ghost Dogs, and Shadow Ranch. He also really enjoyed Alibi in Ashes, Ghost of Thorton Hall, and Shadow at Waters edge

Moving to the area

Hi! My husband and I are looking to relocate from Cape Coral, FL to Appleton. I’m originally from the Dane county area, and he’s from Iowa so we’re familiar with Midwest living generally speaking. But we’ve never really been to Appleton, apart from the mall and Penzys. We’re looking to rent, either apartment or house or duplex type home.

Are there any apartments should we steer clear of? Either between management, neighbourhood in general, personal experiences, or just general knowledge. We’re thinking max budget $1500.

What is that noise?

What’s that sound periodically in the background? It sounds almost like an odd squeaking or like coffee mugs rubbing together? I also hear like smoke detectors chirping at different times. Can anyone tell me what it’s supposed to be?

Confusion and frustration

So late March I had a really debilitating bout of vertigo. I was bedridden for like two days and couldn’t eat or move without spinning into oblivion. Crazy nausea, no balance, the whole nine yards. Did epley 4-5 times a day and it helps for a bit and then back to spin city. Got better on day 3 and 4, but still a bit dizzy.

I went online to my insurance’s website to try to find a provider in my network; I called an ENT I wanted to see. they asked which insurance I have, I told them, they said no sorry we don’t take that one. I said weird, I got the information from the covered providers page. “Yeah sorry. We don’t take that.”

So I call my insurance. They say, yeah we are definitely contracted with them. Let’s call and “educate them” and we will have someone call you back. Okay great thanks.

Three weeks, no call back. I call them, say any updates? No updates, let me escalate this to a a manager and you should get a call back in a week or so. Two more weeks, no call back. I call them back. Any updates? No updates. We’ll escalate this and I can call the office to let the know they are contracted; I’ll speak to you in a bit. Ok. Few hours now, no call back.

So I call 4 other offices from the insurance’s covered provider page. Every. Single. One. Tell me not contracted.

So while my dizziness isn’t debilitating anymore thank god, I still can’t lay on my side without spinning like an alligator death roll. And I have to sleep on my back like a corpse and when I rise to wake I have to rise like fucking Frankenstein’s monster or else I’ll spin. I’m tired. I’m dizzy. I’m frustrated. Like what is going on?
