I discovered Doug Batchelor Saying “Jesus was a 7th Day Adventist.”

I was watching Myles YouTube channel (Answering Adventism) last night. I saw that Doug Batchelor said this.

The following: “I believe Jesus was a Seventh Day Adventist”. If you want to search it is in the title on his YouTube labeled: Facts and fables.

Doug Batchelor knows he is speaking falsely. He is a pastor and knows Jesus was not a 7th Day Adventist. Doesn’t this show us that he is deceiving people?

What are your thoughts about Doug Batchelor? What are your thoughts on this statement?

Will I Be Shunned For Leaving The Church?

I posted in this subreddit about a week ago.
I’ve been wrestling with the decision to leave my church for over six months. I actually wrote my resignation letter more than six months ago, but it’s been sitting as a PDF on my computer, never printed.

The reason I’m leaving is that there are doctrines taught in my church that I can no longer agree with. After a lot of prayer, studying Scripture, and examining my conscience before God, I can’t honestly say I believe these teachings are not biblical. I have to be faithful to what I believe the Lord is leading me to do.

One thing is certain: I want to leave honorably. I’m going to submit a respectful resignation letter because I believe that’s the right thing to do. I’m not leaving out of rebellion. I need to work on the resentment I feel though. I’m leaving because I can’t, in good conscience, remain where I disagree on matters I believe are important. Whether others agree with my decision isn’t my primary concern. I want to do this with integrity before God.

My biggest question is this: Were you shunned after leaving your church?

I’m expecting to hear things like:
“You’re leaving the true church.”
“You’ve gone to Babylon.”
“The shaking is happening”
“You never knew God”

If you’ve been through something similar, what was your experience? How did people treat you after you left?

Does Your Church Wait Until The Last Minute To Finish Things?

One thing that has been increasingly frustrating for me is how often things are left until the last minute. As someone serving on the A/V team, we frequently receive the sermon information, songs, or slide requests the day of the service. This makes it difficult to prepare well and creates unnecessary stress for everyone involved.

I think it would help tremendously if we established a deadline. For example, if the worship music, congregational hymns, sermon title, Scripture references, and any other presentation materials aren’t submitted by Thursday or Friday, then the A/V team can move forward with what has already been planned or choose the congregational hymns ourselves. That would allow us to prepare everything ahead of time instead of rushing at the last minute.
Another concern is communication. It often feels like there isn’t a consistent line of communication between the people involved, or if there is, the A/V team isn’t included. Waiting until the end of the week—or even the morning of the service—to share sermon details or slide requests makes it difficult for us to serve effectively.

I’m sharing this because I genuinely want to serve the church well. I believe a little more planning and clearer communication would reduce stress, help the A/V team prepare with excellence, and allow us to focus on supporting the service rather than scrambling to make last-minute changes.

Does anyone else deal with this?

What Does The Bible Speak Of on “Modern Day Prophets?”

Please come at this biblically and from a neutral viewpoint.

I, for one … do not believe in modern day prophets. I am referring to denominations like the “Seventh Day Adventist Church - Ellen White.
Also, another example would be Joseph Bates in the Mormon .. if I recall.

My belief is that we do not need a “authoritative” prophet in our modern time. Jesus appointed the “apostles” and the Holy Spirit inspired them which then created the Canonical Bible. The Bible and what God needed to reveal has been revealed and now we study his Word.

That’s the gist. If I was going explain every detail to the crease and crevice this page would be extensive.

I think you guys get my point.
-thanks.

What kind Of Questions Were On Your Test?

I’ve failed the teas twice. This was in 2023. I made 56, and a 57. I didn’t really study. Here we need a 60 percent to get into our nursing program.

When I took the test I had 2 A&P questions and the rest was chemistry, and mainly biology and macromolecules.

I’m brushing up on macromolecules, cells, cells function, cell divisions and DNA.
I’m reviewing Atomic Mass, Number, states of physical and chemical change and acids and bases.

Any recommendations for studying and passing? This test is annoying but hey … that’s the sandwich I was handed.

Give me recommendations on “Historical Theology”.

I do not prefer a one sided denominational view. I want a neutral commenting theology for the question I am asking.
- thanks.

What Did You Witness?

I’m currently a Seventh Day Adventist for over 3 years now. I do not care about telling people I am Seventh Day Adventist. I don’t believe a denomination saves me. I am simply a person a who goes to church because I believe and have faith in God.
… I must mention, I don’t believe in Ellen White, 1844, and the Remnant church belief. I’m unsure of the Sunday Law. I’m a skeptic though.

The culture is odd for me. This denomination is about fitting in the “inner circle”. It’s like … the more you participate in church, come every sabbath, be a good boy/girl then people prefer and like you.
Ive spoken during sabbath school and they ignore me. Their demeanor is dark, “us against them” and I feel like I’m being judged because I’m a younger adult. (27 and up)
I’m held back from doing anything in my church and the same board members have been a “board member” for 5 plus years. The thing about me is I don’t hold my tongue. Now - I’m respectful and I’m not out to attack anyone. Im not scared to say something I don’t agree with or if it’s blatant “intellectual discussion”. I speak confidently knowing my Bible.
It’s a rigid environment for me. Most of the congregation is old. The church won’t adapt to new technology. I would describe it as beating your head against a wall. Then leaving and coming back to beat your head again to see how long it takes for a hole to appear. Once a hole appears you see how long it would take for a hospital trip. You can tell … pretty agonizing to say the least.

The communication between elders and the congregation doesn’t exist. They wait until the last minute to provide the information across. Gossip is rampant and the sad fact is - it’s the elders doing the most gossip. The pastor always talking about himself. At times I feel like they view young adults as being inferior.

SDA focus more on “intellectual theology” than making a lasting impact on a true conversion and faith in Jesus Christ. -My opinion.

Did you experience this? Were you at a point of “why do I deal with this in my life?”

SDA is always controversial. No matter where you go there is always “something happening in the church.”

All churches have problems. I understand that.

- thanks
