I’m on a maintenance plan and im eating so much over it. nothing to this post im just not ok.

Aching to relapse

(tw: calories and weight mentioned)
hey!

it’s been a little bit and safe to say it’s not been great. I haven’t had access to my dietician or counselling since my last post. (on vacation) so the grace period of just being bloated and fluffy in a few places is over and now I have gained about 20ish pounds since my all in approach. I’m uncomfortable and i started to weigh and track my food again. the issue is it felt good, i liked not eating 2700-3000 calories. i only ate around 2300 for a few days but today i truly decided to pick recovery or not. i think this is a small timeframe that i have to deal with but at the same time i haven’t gotten any signs this will be over soon. i’m going to be getting bloodwork done soon so i hope that will confirm that eating 3k calories will actually help me. what helped you guys feel less uncomfortable and truly choose recovery? i need some advice on what to do because i don’t know if im doing anything right. (is 3k too much to be eating for a over a month in?) anything helps!!

weight gain in recovery!

(weight/cals mentioned)

Hi, I am about monthish into my period recovery (all in) this includes figuring out my disordered eating habits. I was exercising excessively and eating about 1600-1800 max a day. I had lost about bunch of weight over a few months and at my lowest i was 108. I had gotten so lean that my life was suffering but i looked pretty ripped. Now in recovery I went so deep into EH at the start I couldn’t put the fork down, now I eat 2700-3000cals a day. This is a surplus and I have gained about 12 pounds. When is it safe for me to lose fat (not weight) and try to recomp? also how does eating this much food affect my metabolism? any advice would help!

I’m tired of summer and it’s only june.

I understand that i’m becoming more healthy with recovery, I genuinely feel better and more alive. I don’t miss fearing food or missing workouts but I do miss the way I looked. I have been steadily eating 3k calories for about a month now and the weight has dawned on me. My face and stomach are so puffy. I put a bathing suit on today that fit me a month ago, it doesn’t now. All that aside I do want to point out some positives! Lifting at the gym has genuinely never felt better I am lifting new weights that I couldn’t a week ago!! My boobs are coming back 🙏 and my friends have been supporting me everyday, they offer to take me out to dinner and other stuff to take my mind off my body. I mean this in the best way, I hate the way I look but at least I have some good aspects. Still no period but if you are having troubles with recovery share them in the comments for everyone to relate to!!!

(UPDATE) is it even EH anymore?

Hey! so I posted about eating junk food and reaching 4-5k calories everyday and my plan was to try to reach for more nutrient dense foods. My teams advice was to try to incorporate my processed foods into my meal plan to make it less chaotic! I would try to balance out my meals like adding chocolate to my yogurt bowls and whatnot. That worked but in the end I am still reaching about 5k calories daily. This was scaring me last time I posted but I have seen some positives like my resting HR rising and some weight gaining in other places then just my face and stomach. I have decreased my exercise and I have a feeling my cycle will be back sooner then I thought.

I had been having many thoughts about relapse and how I thought I wasn’t “sick enough”, Just because my hair wasn’t falling out was a reason for me to continue restricting and over exercise. I had got my blood taken and the results showed my liver was inflamed, I didn’t really drink due to the calories so this was a surprise. I now know that it can happen from being undernourished. My body was giving me so many signs that it needs help, now I am not trying to do my recovery “perfect”. in eating whenever and whatever I want, i’m not listening to my hunger cues because I can have a treat before bed even if I am not that hungry. I get to refeed and I hope that my body will feel safe after all the food and rest I have been giving it. I am going to keep eating 4-5k due finally seeing the recovery process happening!

is it even EH anymore?

Hey, I have been missing my cycle for about 9 months now and I just started working with a team to recover my period and help get out of this eating disorder. I am told to eat 3300 calories but everyday since I have dropped restriction I am reaching at least 5k. At first it was extreme hunger but now I am just craving sugar and shitty foods. I dread waking up and having to deal with this urge to eat and eat. When should draw the line at eating cause i’m bored vs fueling myself. I have gained sm weight and I am having such a hard time trusting my brain. I think i will give myself 3 more days of “all in” but then I am going to try to stick to whole foods and not as much junk.

Starting recovery.

I’m in the first week of my restriction Ed recovery. I’m trying to get my cycle back and it’s a long process but does anyone know how long it takes? I am dealing with extreme hunger and mental cravings like never before. I genuinely cannot stop eating from the moment I wake up to when I fall asleep, I’m eating large amounts of food. Is it binging? I’m feeling bloated and uncomfortable but my energy levels are improving. I don’t want to revert back to my habits but this is taking a toll on me.
