How to tell front ensemble section leader that her note accuracy needs improvement

Throughout the seasons my section leader has definitely struggled with note accuracy consistently. Im like the section prodigy so I need to not sound smug or in a way that will be negative. Thoughts?

Is it normal to overshoot octaves when holding 4 mallets?

I used to undershoot my octaves a year ago. And after my indoor percussion season I now consistently overshoot the octaves and always have to make a conscious effort to lossen the intervals in my hand. Anyone else I ask says its the opposite and the undershoot them
