nursing a 36 weeker

Hello there! Just as the title says, has anyone had success exclusively feeding baby born 36+3 on the breast? When they were sleepy did you just syringe feed or use SNS until they got the hang of it?

I have a lactation consultant I’ll talk to as well, but I’m just preparing because I’m pretty sure my babe is going to be born sooner than later.

Positive and negative amniotic tests

34+5
Been having prodromal labor since 31 weeks.
This morning for an hour and a half straight (given ten minutes or so apart) I GUSHED like waterfalls of fluid. Leaked through clothes and right into puddles on the floor, same with my overnight pad, straight through that and clothes and my towel in the car. Did that about 3x on my way to L&D. Gf a big puddle gush on the hospital elevator floor too. Once I got to triage it stopped and my swabs for amniotic fluid came back negative, so they tested my pad and clothes I came in and those tested positive. I still have a lot of fluid (i make a lot in general) but the million dollar question is if it ruptured and slowed down. Triage won’t claim anything due to hospital protocol saying it’s not their pad but my own that tested positive.

My OB came and said if she thinks triage is missing a rupture and I know within my heart of hearts that I did not just straight up pee myself in that amount of time and volume that she will go with my gut and induce me. I feel like I need to be induced.

Has anyone been in this position?!

Advice

Failed the first test by 10 pts over. Is that big?
I’m not intimidated by changing my diet and testing my levels etc but I do have a fear of the elevated risk of preeclampsia during pregnancy and having to end up delivering early and having an emergency c-section.

What are y’all’s stories? Did you get preeclampsia during pregnancy, deliver early and need a c section? Did you not?
