Should I trade my 6 for an 11... too good to miss? 😭

Guys - just browsing on my beloved 6 and an offer popped up on the Google Store.

A code for £150 off the 11. I started a pretend order for an hibiscus and Google also gave me a trade in offer of £250 for my pristine Pixel 6.

That's over 500 USD off asking.

I... I don't know what to do. It seems too good to be true. But I never thought I'd ever get rid of my 6. I thought I'd always have her in a drawer or something.

She's stuttering a little on Android 17 but her battery is good after 4 years and everything else runs perfect.

This has all come so suddenly

Internet down - agent told me to buy a dongle - so confused

Our internet hasn't worked since Saturday. An engineer came on Monday who said something needs to be repaired in the street and it would be fixed by today.

It's not, so I called and got through to an overseas call centre.

They confirmed there was no ETA for the fault to be repaired and I should go and buy a "WiFi dongle" and claim the money back.

The agent was trying to be helpful, but didn't seem to understand that in the UK, a dongle is just a router that doesn't do anything unless you purchase a SIM plan.

Eventually, I established with him that I'd buy a router from eBay or somewhere and a separate PAYG data SIM and reclaim the money from Virgin until it's fixed.

He literally had no idea how I would reclaim the money though, or if there was a maximum limit. We went round and round in circles until he said he'd call me back in a few days.

Is this legit?

It kind of sounded like he was making it up as he went along and I don't want or be landed with a big expense for kit and no way to reclaim it.

When does compensation start?

Internet went off on Saturday morning and we booked an engineer. The engineer came today (Monday) and said there's a wire broken in the street. Apparently, the fault will be fixed tomorrow or the day after.

He said we'd get compensation but Virgin's website says this only begins two "working" days after reporting.

Do the two days of the weekend count?

If a fight is cancelled, does any travel insurance cover lost hotels?

We're going to Italy in the Summer for a few days and have booked the flights with Easyjet.

But I'm hearing of airlines potentially cancelling flights due to fuel shortages thanks to the Iran conflict.

Does any UK travel insurance policy cover lost, but prepaid, hotel bookings due to flight cancellation?

I've drilled down into the small print of a few policies and it seems abandonment/cancellation is only covered due to bad weather and strikes - as opposed to the airline pulling the flight due to their own operational decisions.
