Gecko x-rays

i took loki to the vet for some reasons unimportant to the post but he’s ok so no one needs to worry. BUT i got these x rays out of it (he’s all clear) and i think they deserve to be shared.

uncontrollable nausea

ever since i got my ileostomy 2-ish years ago i’ve had terrible nausea. i know that’s normal, but i have 8mg zofran and 12.5mg topical promethazine. i’d say 8-9 times out of 10 neither (or both) do absolutely nothing. i’m either nauseous for hours until it passes on its own or i end up vomiting and that can help sometimes. i’m wondering if this is just normal or if others have experienced this and were told it could be a separate issue.

amitriptyline alternative?

i was diagnosed about a month ago after a stint in the hospital because of the pain and urine retention. after i left, i was sent to a urologist who recommended this medication. i’m on 20mg at the moment and don’t feel any better in my ic and much worse in my normal day to day life. the side effects especially the cold sweats and hyperhidrosis have been killing me and i still am having to take one or two doses of oxycodone or tramadol to quell the pain. is there any alternative you have been recommended or tried?

catheter pain

i’m in the hospital with a really bad issue. they had to catheterize me three times yesterday. twice it was a straight cath just to try and empty my bladder bc it was retaining urine gradually getting up to 397 ccs before the cath. both straight caths basically pulled nothing and when they pulled out the second there was sediment blocking the tube. finally they decided on just putting in a folly catheter and leaving it. the entire time j was screaming and crying bc it felt like they were using a knife on my urethra. even now, i would say the bladder pain is worse than it was without the catheter. i know the retention is a bad thing that has to be fixed no matter what, but i wish it would have eased some of the pain instead of just making it worse. idk what to do and why i was having so much sediment blocking my bladder/urethra. this came on only 10 days ago and to see and feel how bad it’s gotten so quickly is very scary/painful.

hospital visit

so i’ve (24 f) been admitted to the hospital because of the bladder pain i’ve been having it’s suspected to be ic. the only thing that had helped the pain that i’ve been offered is dilauded and now my urologist appointment is in 2 weeks. i obviously won’t be here for that long and can’t take dilauded home. i don’t know what to do it’s so painful all i can think about it dying. it hurts so badly and it only just started getting this way on monday or tuesday. i need help but i can’t get any idk anymore. idk if this is just a rant or if anyone has any suggestions. i just can’t do this.

…but it’s manageable!

i’m tired of looking up every new thing i get diagnosed with and seeing “it’s not curable but it’s manageable.” for who?????? so far it isn’t for me in fact it feels like 8 levels of psychological torture just to be awake for 2 hours. i’m hurting, i feel sick, i have neurological problems it’s not curable but boy do they say it’s manageable
