P12 has been removed

Well it looks like it’s official here in the states. The p12 isn’t even listed on the configuration site anymore but the p6 is again along with p10. Looks like they have delayed it again into late 2027 so cancelling my order today for the allocation. Sucks cuz I had such high hopes for that model/trim but onto greener pastures I guess. Might look at the BMW I x5 60e or the R2 as my back up.

So depressing

Man Indiana sucks. The lease on my Lexus is up in march and just found out not only am I not able to lease in this crap hole of a state I would have to go to Chicago if I wanted to buy one yet Tesla and Rivian somehow were grandfathered in when they passed that stupid law banning direct to consumer sales. Damn dealership lobby group

Questions

These Tesla sub reddits I swear should be sued into oblivion for asking general questions. If ppl are trying to ask but the mods are blocking everything I think this is where we need to remind Reddit they MUST OBEY the constitution. So trying to post this for a 3rd time!

Morning everyone. I’d like to start of by letting all of you know ive been an ICE/ plugin hybrid owner for all my life. After my 21 Supra, and GR corolla that i just sold a few weeks ago along with the lease on my Lexus ending march 2027 im currently looking for a new vehicle. This is where tesla came in. The dealer here in Rogers MN was kind enough to let me drive one over the weekend after experiencing a bad self serve test demo (battery was at 8% when i got to the car). With that being said the first car the Rep put my into was a Stealth Grey model Y with white interior which was…..damn! I was not ready for that thing hahahah. I got back on the interstate just to see how it was on the highway and i hit their limit of 85 in no time flat. I even did a rolling launch and immediately i knew; “im going to get a ticket if i get one of these for sure!”

So i brought it back and got into the model Y premium white on black. I gotta say im pretty surprised and yes i will give the tesla software/hardware engineering team credit….FSD is amazing. Even tried out mad max yesterday and holy crap that setting is super aggressive hahaha. Now i will admit i kind of wish they developed an easy mode for beginners with just checking a few boxes and the car would set itself up until you felt comfortable with all the menus and sub settings and i wish the handles did pop out like the do on the Cadillacs that do have very similar door handles. Other than the sound insulation issue and that glass roof thats really all I have to point out. I know you can get a solid roof and honestly believe that is much safer but i like all you can get in the premium.

So this brings me to my issue. I’ve considered the model Y premium (performance only if i feel it’s worth the extra 12,000) ive even looked into the model 3 premium or performance. A yes ill admit ive even considered looking at used model x’s post 2024 but i guess im looking for clarity from ppl. Now i am a retired mechanic so not doing service work is going to be a trip other than check filters occasionally and fluids but I guess my main hangup is range. Now before everyone starts to freak out an go “Well dont get an EV” guys i wanna try making the transition. I only lease so there’s that.

The only other thing i have to mention is range and temp. Now i do not live in MN i just work out of here mainly because we have trucking terminals all over but i make trips from MN to IN 3 times a year and just end up working the 48 weeks. So December is my concern. Both MN and IN get into the negatives so i have that to deal with, yes i am willing to put on snow tires, im just curious about range and the issues others have dealt with that im missing. Just another plus, i do have a level 2 EVIQO j1772 charger at home that is hardwired and hits 48 amps since i have a 24 Lexus NX 450h+. Oh and in case everyone does wonder it’s an ok car but as someone who genuinely hates CVT, ive grown to hate this car and the engine is incredibly weak.

So any recommendations would be appreciated along with any data you can provide.

Ive also considered waiting for the Volvo EX60 p12 or the Lucid Cosmos if they ever do a reveal.

Said goodbye 🥹

Well it was a fun ride having just a year and 2 months but said goodbye to mine. 25 premium plus with 1189 miles on it. Since I’m technically trucking 48 weeks out of the year (money is just good and don’t take much time off) I decided having a car note on something that just sat on jackstands at my moms wasn’t worth it. Lease on my Lexus is up march 2027 so maybe Toyota might put the engine in the GR maybe not but just ready for a new chapter. Looking at things as an investment anymore just sucks and puts a damper on fun but adult life you know. I’ll miss that beast will admit though it was to much fun on the highway and surprised I wasn’t pulled over going thru WI 🤣🤣🥹
