Bookclub?

Hello!

Long-time lurker, first time poster. My husband (32YM) and I (30YF) moved to the Kirkland area 3 years ago and haven't made many friends. I've gotten back into reading recently and was wondering if anyone would be interested in starting/joining a bookclub?

We could meet up in a cafe, at a park, restaurant, etc., to get to know each other and find out our book interests. I read a bit of everything but recently I've been into self-improvement, romance, and fantasy.

I was thinking we don't all necessarily have to read the same book, we could read separate books and then share what they're about? I'm open to ideas!

Hope to hear from y'all soon!

NCL Alaskan Cruise Help?

Hi everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster.

I recently snagged the 7-day Alaskan NCL cruise from myvegas and I'm having a hard time doing the math. We, husband and I, got two different estimates on the NCL website (state room and ocean view) and the estimates were coming out to be ~$2057-2217 total (we're doing the FAS/specialty dining).

Imagine my surprise when talking to the agent and they said the total cost would end up being ~$2k...even with the comp!

Does that sound right?? I asked for a breakdown, which the agent was able to send, but even if we did the stateroom + removed the travel protection we'd be looking at $1800.

I guess I'm at a loss since it sounded great at the time, but looking at the numbers makes me question whether it's actually worth it or not. The only way we could make this a "inexpensive" trip would be by doing a bare-bones reservation...

Does anyone else have experience with this? Are my expectations too high? I appreciate any and all insight!

Thank you!
