I'm looking to explore some new cafes or restaurants for dinner today and was wondering if anyone would be up to join?

Is it just me, or does it feel like the quality of fuel at our local pumps has hit an all-time low lately?

Ever since the E20 rollout, it’s become the "go-to" excuse for every issue—from a sudden drop in mileage to engine sputtering.

But I’m starting to wonder: Are we actually getting 20% ethanol, or are pump owners using the "it’s just the new E20 fuel" line as a convenient shield to hide pure, old-fashioned adulteration?

It feels like there’s zero accountability. When you complain about fuel quality or weird performance issues, the standard response is just "Sir, that’s the new government fuel, everyone is having the same issue." It’s the perfect cover—if the car runs poorly, blame the government's policy. If the mileage is down, blame the ethanol.

Has anyone else noticed that some pumps seem way worse than others, even in the same city? I’m skeptical that the "standardized" E20 across all brands is actually standardized.

My questions for the sub:

1. Do you think fuel pump owners are exploiting the E20 transition to stretch their margins by mixing in even cheaper additives/solvents?
2. How can we, as consumers, actually verify what’s going into our tanks? Is there a way to test this, or are we just at the mercy of whatever is being pumped?
3. Has anyone noticed a massive disparity in performance between different brands or even different outlets of the same brand?
