Will this affect the process?

Hello,

I just submitted my application for the October 11 final filing. I have not worked since 12/2025, stayed home with the kids while my wife has been working. If I took a job now, would that have a bad affect on the backgrounds?

I know it is a long way out and I need to pass the written and physical but I have been offered to test for a sheriffs department as a CO. Should I attempt or should I decline? Is getting a job now going to affect the backgrounds long term? Any advice/experience would be appreciated.

Struggling pre op weight loss

My weight has always fluctuated. I mean I weigh in Monday at 265 and Tuesday I will be 274. Now that I am going into month 4 of 6 I am starting to stress about it. I track all of my food, accurately and I am averaging 1200-1800 a day. I drink water all day long. I swim 3-5 times a week. I walk 2 miles 4 times a night on top of the 2 I already walk through out the day. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I will even round up on some things when logging my food and still stay lower than I ever have before. I went in last Tuesday for my nutrition appointment I was 265, I went in Thursday I was 271. weighed today 274. anybody else had this issue? anybody else overcame this issue? am I on a boat alone 😭

Visitation

I have 100% physical and legal custody. My ex husband has visitation facetimes 2x per week for 30 minutes. while he does call he only speaks to one child for about 10 minutes. my child has been asking my ex to visit him, and my ex says no. since this has happened we have had extreme outburst at school to the point I’m getting called by the teacher daily. i do have him singed up to the see a therapist.

for context my child was 3 when my ex disappeared in the middle of the night. it went from dad being there 24/7 to dad not speaking to child for over a year. my ex actually didn’t speak to the child until I filed for child support. I did send over 200 texts asking if he wanted to speak the the children which he never did. dad now lives across the country and most likely will never come back

my question is, is there anything I can do to cut off visitations? legally?
