When season six started airing all I saw online was everyone supporting Heather, Whitney, Angie, and Bronwyn and hating Lisa and Meredith, and now for season seven that has completely flipped. Now sure, I can understand what people might dislike in all of these women. What I don’t understand is worshipping one housewife to better put down another. Suddenly everyone is okay with Lisa and Meredith’s antics because they’re funny and entertaining, but everyone else on the cast is evil and doesn’t think of how they affect others. I don’t get this because I think the show has always shown that ALL of these women are cut from the same cloth and work so well as a group/sisterhood/whatever because of how similar they can be. None of them are drastically more flawed than any other, and they all get a semi-bad edit pointing out their flaws, fumbles, and insecurities to make them look more realistic and human. At the end of the day they are all wealthy privileged women living in a conservative area trying to navigate online notoriety and internet fame. What I’ve taken from the show is the strengths these women can build in themselves by messing up and recognizing it when the behavior is showcased. They are all human and flawed but deserving of forgiveness and a chance to do better. The angry mob towards whatever housewife made the biggest mistake of the episode is getting really intense and weird. I know that it’s typical of housewives fans, but I’ve seen some people say the show has become ruined for them over the women’s antics, and I don’t understand that at all. The cast have always been these people and this has always been the show. If you hate one of the ladies sooo much I feel like you’d actually hate all of them. And if you’re just here to hate whoever sucks the worst, then yeah, you are going to burnt out fast, because you’re going to have to hate every single one of them. Idk I think there’s room for constructive criticism without the mob mentality. The mob mentality stuff is a lot more similar to the behavior it’s trying to critique than you guys realize.

Saying that her Instagram account was hacked is the fakest excuse I’ve ever heard. I don’t think Brooklyn will ever take accountability and for that I will never like her or respect the positions TPTB give her.

I know, I know, I’m probably pissing people off, but hopefully I can explain myself in a meaningful, constructive way. Buckle up if you wanna read this cause I’ve thought a lot about it. For starters, we can’t deny that a lot of people in general don’t view the dcc as real people. But the MTT fans that are sick of the girls “talking about their feelings” are extremely problematic. Yes these people are entitled to their opinions, but I’m also entitled to my opinion that they’re wrong. MTT was a toxic ass show with horrible body standards and worse technical dancers than we have now. A lot of the drama came from purposely setting some of these women up to fail at their lifelong dreams by giving them undue hope about the situation. If Netflix is creating drama, they do a much better job about hiding it, and they give the girl at the center of drama a lot more agency to tell her perspective. I really love how they do their confessional interviews away from work so that they’re more comfortable. MTT, on the other hand, was the epitome of terrible trash reality television, and while it had some enjoyable/entertaining moments, I do not understand how someone can call themselves a fan of the dcc while simultaneously wanting that show back. It was so unnecessary cruel towards the girls. I understand wanting elements of it back, like the dancing, but the hating of the girls talking about their feelings really is archaic and offensive. Why do they want their dccs to be seen and not heard? Because the dcc are just sexual props to them? And why do they think that, is it just because they can’t view women in skimpy clothing as anything but sexual props? I’m not saying everyone with that opinion sees it this way, thats a big assumption, but I am certainly asking because this is what it looks like to me as someone without this opinion. When I watch the dcc, I see inspiring leaders and hard working human beings who go through a lot to perform for a national audience, and I can’t tell you how much I wish people could quit being slutshamey and misogynistic towards them all because they’re in a crop top and booty shorts. They are people. And sure, the dcc are definitely not perfect people. You can definitely critique them constructively. A lot of the dcc don’t take enough accountability, (or any) but we’ll never solve that issue by making them speak LESS. I know I’m asking for a tall order from dcc fans to be mature, and sure, the majority isn’t always the loudest, so this probably isn’t relevant to a lot of the people who will read this. But some of these fans have so much internalized misogyny they project onto these young women who work ten times harder than they ever will, and while I might not be able to stop it, I can definitely see that it isn’t right and call it out.

Kenya is the worst. She sexually assaulted a fellow cast member because they had a prior argument. She has lied and torn down more women than anyone else on this cast. She has copied so many scenes that other cast members brought to the show. I know her army will always be rabid and ready to defend her but I had to say this to make sure people know that not everyone is okay with her behavior. Even before her actions with Brit I hated her, and now I never want to see her again. This is all my personal opinion, but Kenya Moore does not understand boundaries or professionalism and never has. From her first episode to her last you can see zero growth in her maturity and general respect for the others she encounters in society.
