Best robot vacuum for 80sqm, two cats, and tofu litter pellets? Looking for the "best bang for my buck."

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for my first robot vacuum and could really use your wisdom. My apartment is about 80 square meters (~860 sq ft) and the main challenge is my two cats.

The "War Zone":

  • Lots of fur: My cats shed quite a bit, so I need something that won't clog or get tangled immediately.
  • Tofu litter pellets: I use tofu litter, and pellets always end up outside the box (especially in the bathroom). Even though they are small, I need a vacuum with enough suction to actually pick them up instead of just "kicking" them around the floor.
  • Budget: I’m looking for the most affordable option possible that isn't a piece of junk. I need something durable with a great price-to-quality ratio that won't break after 6 months.

My main questions:

  1. Is it worth paying extra for a self-emptying base when you have cats?
  2. Are there any brands known for durability (lasting years without major software or battery issues)?
  3. Bristle brush or rubber roller? Which one is better for handling both pet hair and the tofu pellets?

I’ve been looking at the usual brands like Xiaomi, Roborock, or Cecotec, but I’m open to any specific model suggestions that have worked well for you in similar situations.

Thanks in advance!

Estoy buscando mi primer robot aspirador y me vendría genial vuestra sabiduría.
