Kariton finally opened their branch in Makati! i first tried it when i was in the South and boy oh boy, their gelato is to die for 😩 i’ve been wanting to come back ever since! TYG they finally opened a branch here.

all the flavors are Filipino-inspired too. i got a double scoop of turon and ube and GOD, it’s like i’m actually eating the real thing.

besides the gelato, they also have wine/drinks and a few pastries. i think it’s a partnership with another brand.

finally had a chance to try Scratch in Poblacion today!

i would say their burger is just “sakto lang.” also, idk about you guys, but i liked their buns. i know there’s nothing too special about it, but it complements the sauces and the meat well. i didn’t like their smashed patty because i felt like i was chewing “gatil” (not sure if i used the right term, but it tasted like semi-hard bones haha). i hope they can improve on that. i also wish they’d add more vegetables because medyo nakaka-umay rin ng onti.

i also ordered their strawberry milkshake, which was great, and yung truffle fries nila did not disappoint! i liked the dipping sauce and you can really feel the truffle essence haha

i ate here today and it was just so weird…

basically, there was me and 2 big groups of japanese people (one on the left and one on the right). the table on the left, which i was sitting across from, had 3 japanese men and 1 young girl (if you’d picture it, ifykyk). they were laughing and smoking iqos.

turns out, i didn’t see that there was another girl at the table across from me. she stood up, and it turns out she was a fucking waiter wearing the same uniform as the lady serving me 😭 she served the food and was caressing the man’s arm while giggling and shit. i just couldn’t help but notice because i was so surprised. i felt like i was in a brothel or invading a space or something 😭

towards the end, the other table across from me left and handed cash to the waiter. turns out there were 3 waitresses in total. two of them just had to “entertain” the japanese guests. anyways, the food was okay lang, but goddamn, that experience left me scarred haha.
