Is this for real? I have to pay $50 a month to share links? Any advice?

I run a very small Facebook page dedicated to promoting the Indiana beer and spirits industry. Under 3,000 followers. I make $0 from facebook. I just don’t for fun. And now I have to pay to share outside links? What the hell? Is there any way around this?

New Albany’s Floyd County Brewing Co. purchased by Upland Brewing Co.

Statement from Upland:
“Big news to share — Upland Brewing Company has acquired Floyd County Brewing Company and the Thirst & Main campus in New Albany.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to build on what the Floyd County team has created and to continue serving the Southern Indiana community in a meaningful way. Floyd County Brewing will remain open and operating as a brewpub during the transition period, so guests can continue to enjoy the space, the beer, and the experience they know.

“Currently, our team is taking time to learn the space, understand the community, and develop a full rebranding plan that truly works for New Albany. As we move forward, you'll see thoughtful updates to the restaurant space upstairs, designed to enhance your dining experience. The beloved Enchanted Forest will remain largely untouched, preserving the unique atmosphere so many people love.

““Congratulations to Floyd County Brewing Company owners Brian and Julie Hampton on an incredible decade of success in downtown New Albany. We thank them for their commitment and investment in our community and wish them all the best in their next chapter. The City of New Albany is excited to welcome the Upland Hospitality team and looks forward to the new energy and opportunities it will bring to our River City," said Mayor Jeff Gahan.

“More details coming soon. In the meantime, we’re grateful for the foundation that’s been built and excited for what’s ahead.”

Floyd County Brewing opened in 2015.

Chapmans brewing in Fort Wayne closes after 14 years.

Chapman's Brewing Company in Fort Wayne has closed. They opened in 2013 in Angola with a flagship beer-cider hybrid, or graf, honoring their namesake John “Johnny Appleseed” Chapman. They moved to Fort Wayne’s Electric Works in 2024. Over the years they have operated taprooms in Columbia city, Wabash, Huntington, the Fort Wayne airport, and two other locations in Fort Wayne.

From facebook: “After 14 years, Chapman’s Brewing Company will be shutting down effective immediately.

This is not the outcome any of us wanted, but the financial burden of operating the business became too much to sustain, and despite fighting as hard as we could, we’ve reached the point where we can no longer continue.

I’ve personally spent the last 10 years of my life helping build Chapman’s into what it became, and I’m incredibly proud of what this company meant to Fort Wayne and the people around it. To every employee, customer, mug club member, musician, vendor, and supporter who has been part of Chapman’s over the years, thank you. None of this would have been possible without you.

Most importantly, thank you to our staff, past and present. You were the heart of this place.

While this chapter is ending, I do want people to know this is not the end for most of us. Keep an eye out for what's to come next.

Thank you for 14 unforgettable years of Chapman’s Brewing Company.
- Zach”
