Finding an anime

Image unrelated

first episode was the one where a boy sends the mc out to track his brother (and his parents down) but its faint memory so i cant remember if it was the brother and the parents that went out at the same time or parents and brother first, brother came back, brother went out again but it might've been the latter

reveals to have been the big brother killed the parents

the mc had shape shifting abilities thats all I remember

A hypothetical match-up instead of Armstrong fighting Sloth it's Roy mustang.

Who wins?

Fight takes place in the same place Armstrong fought sloth.

Roy is VERY mad.

The distance: 20 meters

Introduction: Okabe

Okabe stands out more at the start because his “mad scientist” act makes him feel weird and unpredictable right away. in SG, you slowly realize this is mostly a mask, which adds more layers to his introduction. Ed is introduced well in the manga and brotherhood, but he’s more straightforward since his goals and past are clear early on.

Conclusion: okabe Okabe’s ending feels stronger emotionally because it’s built on a lot of suffering, repetition, and the mental pressure from the time loops he experienced. The payoff feels very personal and heavy and it was sort of relatable in a sense. Ed's ending is thematically very good, but it’s more simple and clean compared to Okabe’s emotional weight.

Dynamic: Okabe

I think Okabe definitely has better Dynamics with each of the cast, and Okabe genuinely has this with ease because Steins gate is more or so character focused.

Depth: Okabe

Okabe has stronger psychological depth because most of his character is shown through his thoughts and mental state. in SG, you constantly see how the time loops affect his mind. Ed's deep too, but Okabe’s inner focus on his mind is much more intense and has a way powerful message than Ed.

Dialogue - Ed

Ed's philosophical line after the end of brotherhood really is near perfection, and it's the reason why people say FMA is deeply as it is.

Inner conflicts - Okabe

Okabe has way better psychological conflicts, Edward barely has any from my memory to be honest.

External Conflicts: Ed

I think Ed takes this mainly because everything that happens in FMA is a shonen story, there's just alot going on. Edward having to deal with the hommunculi, which Edward has parallels with aswell as his wish to obtain the Philosopher’s Stone are all brilliant concepts of external conflict. Aswell as Ed's thoughts of the war in ishval are just better in my subjective/objective taste.

Parallels: Ed

Ed takes this mainly because his thematically parallels with Father were extremely good, Ed's lesson on life after he had given his alchemy gate to the truth, and learning his lesson that he cannot roleplay as a God, since he's a mere insignificant being has so much power into it. Rintaro's parallels dont exist that much in my opinion and just doesnt hit the same as Ed's conflict.

Love: BOTH

they're goats, no explanation.

So overall, Okabe is a better written character. And he takes this easily.

I want your guys opinion now, Who's better written?

Fullmetal Alchemist doesn't have alot of fights scenes compared to your average shonen, but both of these fights were one of the most enjoyable out of their respective shows

through the categories of animation, emotional tension, and strategy which fight scene was better?

Scar vs Edward and Alphonse in brotherhood

or

Scar vs Edward (Disgused) in 2003?

Just as the title says, But I much prefer Roy Mustang in brotherhood simply because he just has much cooler moments, MUCH more screen time, and just had alot of impact to the story than his counterpart in 2003
