Why I feel ‘communication problems’ are often system problems
One thing I’ve noticed with neurodivergent employees and customers is that “communication issues” are often actually workflow-friction issues.
A lot of systems are built assuming everyone can context-switch quickly, remember verbal instructions instantly, and comfortably juggle multiple platforms at once. But for people with ADHD, autism, anxiety, or executive dysfunction, fragmented workflows can quietly become exhausting.
Even something as simple as having calls, texts, notes, reminders, and follow-ups spread across different apps can increase missed details and mental fatigue.
I think there are still a few companies underestimate how much clearer systems and better communication design improve both productivity and well-being.
Curious what others here have noticed about workplace systems or communication setups have genuinely helped neurodivergent teams function better?
