One book at a time?

Do you tend to stick to writing one book at a time? I’m new to self-publishing, and up until now I’ve always focused on one thing at a time. At the moment I am finishing book two of my novella series.

But this week I’ve been bowled over by a need to start something else. It would just be a standalone novel though… And I originally planned to finish books two and three in the series before thinking about something else.

I’m thinking I’ll just start writing a little bit of the novel here and there while focusing on the novellas mostly. But is it easy to keep track of things? Worried I’ll start getting confused between the different “worlds” and constantly have to check notes!

Issue with Ebook

The US ebook version of my novella has been saying “This title is not currently available for purchase” for at least 12 hours now (possibly longer as I hadn’t checked it in a day or two before that). The paperback version is fine, and the UK version is fine.

Has anyone had this issue? Wondering if it’s because I’m in the UK so it’s just not showing me the site properly, although weird that it did before now - it was fine a few days ago, and everything on kdp seems fine (worldwide territories is selected etc).

(Definitely Not) The One - A British Rom-Com Novella. Available now on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited

(Definitely Not) The One
By Taylor Thornbury

Londoner Bethany Wyatt is done with men. After one bad date too many, she deletes the dating apps and decides to focus on herself instead.

Then she runs into James Huntingdon, the almost-love-of-her-life who disappeared to the other side of the world years ago and has suddenly returned saying everything she wants to hear.

Before long, Bethany finds herself ignoring every red flag and falling straight back into a messy situationship with the man she never quite got over.

As if that wasn't enough, her work life is falling apart, and she's forced to work with the irritatingly arrogant colleague, Ryan Rochester, on a make-or-break project. Unfortunately for Beth, the more time she spends with Ryan, the harder he becomes to dislike.

Caught between the fantasy she's clung to for years and the possibility of something new, Bethany must decide whether she's finally ready to stop chasing the wrong man.

Perfect for fans of emotional romantic comedies, workplace tension, and messy modern relationships, (Definitely Not) The One is a funny, heartfelt story about bad decisions, second chances, and learning that love isn't always supposed to hurt.
- Novella length - binge it in a day
- Witty British humour - set in London
- Workplace enemies-to-lovers tension
- Toxic ex vs healthy love interest
- For anyone who's ever ignored a red flag

(Definitely Not) The One

[Self promo] My romantic comedy novella, set in London, is out now on KU! It’s got British humour, a toxic ex, and an irritating work colleague who the main character, Bethany Wyatt, keeps clashing with.

This book is for anyone who’s ever ignored a red flag, or stayed in a situationship too long, before realising that maybe something better might be around the corner…

- This is Book 1 of the Bethany Wyatt series
- A little sprinkling of spice

My book was published today!

Feeling excited that my romantic comedy novella is now published on Amazon! But also have suddenly had a total panic of “why have I bothered doing this?! Why would anyone give it a chance when I’m an unknown author?!”

Did anyone else feel this way after publishing?

Trying to stay focused on the long game which is at least two more novellas in this series, the next of which will be out in August.

I do think there’s people out there that would love it! It’s just convincing them to read it that’s going to be the hard part!
