With the NY Times list of the greatest shows of the 21st century recently released, I’ve been thinking about others. I rewatched “NYPD Blue,” during the Pandemic. It stood up then; I’m sure it stands up now. It was raw in storylines, presentation and the cast looked like regular people. An absolute work of art.
I got this the other day at Target (30% off) and I really enjoyed it. It’s the first book from Pinborough that I’ve read. I looked up some of her others, though, and the reviews and ratings are all over the place. Does anyone have any suggestions for what to read next?
I was doing laundry tonight and this song came up on my Spotify… completely took me back to the show, and the rage dancing.

Please be kind. I moved to the woods in Northern CA from a major city with my new husband, and I am struggling with loneliness. I love birds, so I bought some feeders this past spring and everything has been going well. But this week Billy Bear (I named him, as he has now been a “dinner guest” several times) showed up, stole several bird feeders, destroyed a couple more and hung out for over an hour in the middle of the day. I know a “fed bear is a dead bear,” and I don’t want to do anything to cause Billy or the birds harm. That said, is there any sort of bird food that won’t attract bears? (I changed suet brands and the new one included chunks of fruit, which I think attracted Mr. B.) If there’s not, it’s okay. I’m just curious if I could keep all of the creatures happy.
Hello! I’ve been buying more oatmeal due to increased food prices. I’d like to explore recipes that aren’t the standard sweet, breakfast types we see in the U.S. a lot. I’d like to be able to serve it as a side with meat/fish, or even standalone vegetarian dishes. Thanks in advance!
A few years ago I posted this in this community. Everyone was so kind and supportive. I just read it and the responses to my husband (we’ve been married six months) and he cried. I don’t know if anyone in the reddit space is going through it like I was, but I want to tell y’all how much this community has meant to me, and I hope anyone who needs the support finds it. I read a lot of posts from people who clearly stay organized around wine. They know all of the details. I’m envious. I want to start being more serious about wine, but I’m overwhelmed by the amount of information out there. Can anyone suggest anything about staying organized and focused in this hobby? (I love champagne, sancerre, and dessert wines.)
