I've been rewatching Lost over the past few weeks for like the hundredth time. One thing that always bothered me is why was Jacob so against the MIB leaving the island? the big plan was for him to sink the island and leave, but once the island was sunk the MIB would have lost his powers and became a normal man. Surely, he couldn't do much damage living in a normal society, he will probably spend that time loving life not spreading misery and death.

When Jacob was giving his speech to the few candidates left, he said everyone you know and love will die if he leaves, surely, he's been a tad dramatic here?

What am I missing here?

So out of all the commanders we have seen so far, is it safe to say Weston is top dog? I got the impression Judd outranked him even though Weston is in charge of the eyes, but the way he went to that prison, took Bekka home and arranged that false story after Judd refused to help her tells me he outranks him?

I wish we saw the conversation between Judd and Weston, that would have been interesting.

I was rewatching the latest episode and probably nothing but I noticed the camera kind of focused on the door been left open when Becka left the house. Would it be possible for Lydia and Judd to put a story together that a under cover may day agent did it, just so Becka won't be punished. She is a green after all and we all know what the perverted old men think of greens.

I've not read the books but have watched THT and up to date with the Testements. I believe in the Testements book America takes back Gilead eventually and it turns back into the USA. Now so far there's no signs of that happening, Gilead tried to take Boston again but failed so when does Gilead start to get into military trouble? is that part covered with any detail in the books?
