Hackathon Teammate Search] Tata Technologies InnoVent 2026 — Looking for a B.Tech 3rd/4th year co-builder*
Hey everyone,
I'm participating in **Tata Technologies InnoVent** — a national-level Edge AI hackathon with a prize pool of **₹3,00,000 + PPO opportunities at Tata Technologies**. Registration deadline is **July 5, 2026**.
**What we have thought to build:**
An Edge AI road hazard detection system for ADAS — think pothole detection, debris, cattle crossings, waterlogging — all running **on-device on a Raspberry Pi 5** using a fine-tuned YOLOv8 model trained on Indian road data (IDD + RDD2022). No cloud, no latency. Built specifically for Indian roads.
Most global ADAS systems are trained on German autobahn data and cost ₹20 lakh. Ours runs on ₹8,000 hardware. That's the pitch.
**Who I'm looking for:**
- Currently in **B.Tech 3rd or 4th year** (any branch)
- Comfortable with **Python** and at least one of: ML / Computer Vision / Embedded Systems
- Available before July 5 to co-submit Stage 1 (just a presentation + PoC video — not a full build yet)
- Someone who actually wants to build, not just add it to their resume without contributing
**Bonus points if you know:** YOLOv8, OpenCV, Raspberry Pi, FastAPI
**What's the time commitment for Stage 1?**
Honestly not much — the architecture is already designed, the dataset is identified, and the model training plan is ready. Stage 1 just needs a solid deck and a short demo video. We'd need maybe 3–4 focused sessions before July 5.
If we get shortlisted to Stage 2, that's when the real building starts — and that's the fun part.
Drop a comment or DM me if you're interested. Happy to share the full project doc and jump on a call.
Let's build something that actually matters. 🔥
