JSA issue - They want money back because I 'failed to disclose change in earnings'.

I've been told I need to pay £276 back as, according to the letter I received, I failed to disclose a change in my part-time earnings.

I was made redundant in November of last year and immediately applied for JSA as I knew it would be tough looking for a new role (I'm a graphic designer and the industry has taken a beating of late). It's now July and I'm still not in full-time work.

Along the way I've picked up a few small freelance jobs that I have ALWAYS told the person at my regular JSA meetings about. I have never misled them about when I've worked or what I've earned. There was some confusion in my second interview about what my work status was, originally the women I spoke to put me down as a business (or something) and, in my following appointment, the guy I spoke to was very confused, said that was wrong and edited my application.

I'm not averse to paying it back, it's not a huge amount and I know that if I've been over paid I've been over paid, but it does sting. Especially as the implication is that I did something underhand.

Is it worth contacting them about it? Will it appear on any of my records or anything like that?

Location: South East England.

ELI5 Why do digital things go wrong?

Why can something that works perfectly well one day, go completely to crap the next but then work just fine if you switch it off and on? Most mechanical things have a slow and steady decline under normal use.

Festival/concert/event every day

When I first move to Be Right On 26 years ago, I was told that there was enough pubs & bars to be able to visit a different one every day of the year. I now suspect that’s true of cafes… But how long will it be until we can claim to have a festival/event (large) for every day of the year?

Any issues on the B'Ton to London line this morning?

I know there was an ongoing problem yesterday that some were saying may affect this morning's travel...

This can't be right...

I've Just seen a job post for a VOLUNTEER senior designer. VOLUNTEER! They're after a VOLUNTEER SENIOR DESIGNER with 4-5 years experience. Oh but there's potential to convert into a paid or full-time position so that's good.

Edit: Just checked the company's careers page and the only two roles that are voluntary are the design-related ones.

Season 4 - WTAF?

I mean, it's been getting steadily worse since season 1 but I've just started 4 and it feels like someone is taking the p**s. What the hell is going on? Is it gonna improve or should I just cut my losses?

I’m fascinated by the users of this platform.

The platform itself is exactly as I expected. Survey appears. I do the survey. I get a small amount of money. But since I joined this sub… Wow. What a world has opened up to me. It seems there are people making an actual living from this. How? Doesn’t the insecurity and repetition kill you? Some are furious that other people are doing it too. Some seem to have accessed ‘secret’ levels within the platform. Some are grouchy that they aren’t part of the AI gang and that they don’t get a load of surveys whenever they switch their computer on and some blame newbies for all their ills.

Some folks are helpful though. That’s nice.

All in all, I had no idea I was joining such a crazy circus when I signed up a month ago.

Why so many 'full' studies?

Newbie here, been using for 10 days. Is it 'normal' to get a lot of high paying studies that appear and then are full immediately? Also, how does one get hold of some of the bigger AI studies?

It’s on the wall of a nursery in Hove. I can’t see how it can be ‘original’. I wonder if it was part of a filming location or something.
