Recent find & restoration questions

Hi, I recently discovered daguerreotypes, found this one which included a very old strip of paper with her name “Aunt Katie - Caroline French”. it looks much more faded in person, but knowing I have the name and could potentially get this to her descendants makes me very excited. Is there a way to find a reputable restoration place in NYC? I tried regular searches but not seeing anything that gives me confidence in their services. Also, if i determine her descendants do you think i should leave well enough alone and not bother them?

Echoshow answer Ring without pressing unmute

Apologies if this was answered, i searched through reddit but found nothing. My parents have an echoshow 5 gen 1 and I just connecting their ring system doorbell and cameras around their house.

Is there a way to answer the ring doorbell without having to press the unmute button on the echo screen? My dad has mobility issues so walking can be difficult if not close by (also has a substance abuse problem, so no access to laptops or iphone - would solve so many problems but we can’t trust him)

“Alexa answer Front Door” works but has the mute button issue
“Alexa talk to Front door” sort of works but only half the time

any other ideas?

push 3 damaged, should i bother repairing

i always told myself to get the hardshell top, but i have walked hundreds of times with it in a tote bag with no problems, until yesterday someone running for the train, her bag smacked into the tote, when i got home one of the knob caps was broken, but with the metal post base of the potentiometer still in tact. i ordered a replacement set of caps, but i noticed it now turns with a slight wobble - still seems to work 100% though.

i contacted ableton and they said there are no licensed repair places in my city. there are a lot of synth repair shops. my question is for anyone with electronics repair experience, should i even bother booking an appointment, is this something that is even fixable since it doesn’t seem like those exacts parts are even purchasable for the push? should i just replace the cap and deal with it or do you think something like that could be fixed?

it’s luckily one of the knobs i don’t use much, but i learned my lesson and bought that hardshell case.
