I recently got a nice pair of pure linen slacks. However, the color is darker than I wanted. I won’t be able to return them, so I was thinking of lightening them with rit color remover. They’re already a herringbone pattern made of brown and light grey fibers. Would the color remover ruin them or damage the fabric, or just make them more of a tan/offwhite color, which is what I’m looking for.

I’ve always been interested in the history, culture, and particularly men’s fashion of the interwar period, from 1919-39. Some of my favorite films are academic adventure films set during this period, like the Mummy and the first three Indiana Jones films. So, I was wondering: what are your favorite books, films, and TV shows, either from this period, or set in this period? DA elements are of course a plus!

I’ve been looking to expand my shirt collection, I’ve mostly got Oxford cloth and linen and I’m looking for something new. I’ve seen some cotton kapok blends, but I’m not sure about the durability of blends, or the idiosyncrasies of kapok. Has anyone here worn cotton kapok? If so, do you find it breathable? Is it prone to pilling? Do you prefer it to say, cotton broadcloth?

I’m looking to wear suits more often, without looking like I just came from the office. Outside of blue, grey, and the dreaded black, what do y’all think are the best suit colors to wear out and about?

I’m looking at getting a tuxedo made. I’m on the pale side, and black doesn’t look good on me. I considered midnight blue, but I’ve always thought green looked better with black than blue. Do y’all have any opinions on dark green tuxedos or dinner jackets? Have you seen any look nice in the wild?
