Parents, how do you do it?
I am halfway through my program, and struggling over the summer to get studying done with a special needs child that doesn't quite understand that Mommy needs quiet and needs to study. Luckily, summer camp is 5 weeks long, but only 3 hours in the morning. Parents - how do you do it, while not getting complaints (Mommy, I'm bored, or the Mommy I'm lonely I got yesterday)? The good news is she goes back to school in August, but WGU doesn't go on break, and I don't want to loose too much momentum till then. Is it realistic to expect the same level of acceleration as when my child is in school?
Careers in Manufacturing
Right now, I'm a full-time older student getting my second degree in Supply Chain and Operations Management. My experience up until my career break was varied. Mostly quality assurance roles, a systems role where I compiled KPIs and dashboards, mixed with supplier quality (including a 3PL), manufacturing/packaging engineering (including RFQs or RFPs), and a very early role setting up material masters in SAP. I would love to understand the opportunities in manufacturing, and wouldn't mind returning to an operations role. I know of some opportunities because of my old career, but I'd like to discover new opportunities.
