Best Front End For First Timer

I'm awaiting arrival of the Odin 2 Portal and I'd like to get everything ready for a "plug and play" experience when it arrives.

  1. I don't plan on using an SD, can I come next the Odin to my PC and transfer data/files/ROMs via a USB?

  2. What's the best/easiest to understand frontend for a first time user in your opinion?

  3. Can I set everything up (folder structure etc) on PC and drag/drop to the Odin when it arrives?

  4. ROMs ... Can I put all zipped files into console names folders (snes, ps1, gba etc) or must everything be extracted?

Odin 2 Portal vs Retroid Pocket 6

I'm looking for the communities thoughts on the Odin Portal 2 and the Retroid Pocket 6. Both are essentially $250. But "only" have about 8gb of RAM.

Ideally I'd like to play some Switch games, specifically Mario and Zelda...am I shooting myself in the foot by getting less than 12gb?

What are your overall thoughts on the Odin Portal 2 vs Retroid Pocket 6, which do you recommend? WHY?

THANKS 👍

How to "setup" device for first time without SD?

If I were to purchase something like the Odin 3 with 256gb storage, I'd like to keep all games and software on the device itself.

So if I'm not purchasing a separate SD how am I setting up all of my directories and ROMs etc. It would be 100x easier for me to do all of the downloading/zip files/organization etc on my PC.

So I guess Im asking... You set all of this up on the PC right? But if I don't have a separate SD card...? I've obviously never been through this. I appreciate all help in advance.

I Just Want to Play Classics, like Zelda

I'm starting to get analysis paralysis. Everytime I think about pulling the trigger on my first handheld I click another link or type out another mention in a YT review.

I want to play the classics like A Link to the Past or Ocarina And Minish Cap etc. I want to "start over" and see if the community has a few recommendations to help guide me.

I guess I want to be able to play a level or two beyond N64 if possible? Please leave your suggestion(s) and why you suggest said device. Greatly Appreciated!

Ocarina of Time and Various Zelda Titles

I'm looking to try some of the classics for the very first time. I'm looking to play Ocarina of Time and Minish Cap to start. But looking at Ocarina it seems that it came out for several systems.

Is there a most "definitive" version of Ocarina and/or Minish to play?

I'm trying to figure out which handheld I need!

Curated Lists of ROMs? Tiny Best

There are SO many games. Which is a good thing, but if you don't know what you're looking for you don't know what you're missing.

Old searches all seemed to result in "tiny best go" or tiny best... unfortunately a lot of those links lead to dead ends/dead websites.

Are there any suggested curated lists like tiny go etc/or places where you can select X amount of games etc?

I'm just overwhelmed and looking for guidance. Much appreciated.
