Might be a really weird question but do you lr references see whether you submitted ur final application through olsas?
I know that some schools like Saskatchewan clearly state on their website that a connection is a bonus, but do other schools such as Alberta, Calgary, UBC, and Uvic require connections
I looked on their website but I couldn't find anything

So basically the other day I had two people I cared about pass away at the same time, and I have anxiety so when this news coupled with a really bad week came togther I had an anxiety attack and I couldnt breathe my partner was helping me take my inhaler and I was crying howvever bc this happened at 1 am and I live in an apartment with very thin walls one of my neighbors called for a wellness check and they came talked and left saying everything is okay and just to go to sleep
But now im afraid if this will show up on a vulnerability sector check, whether nursing schools or places of work would see it and flag it
If anyone has any experince or advice I would really appreciate it

the mods took down my previous post for the 4 youth clubs, not sure why since i didn't break the rules - i literally have proof for everything that was said
my overall advice for those clubs is just pls reconsider or stay away - its already hard enough to be a premed or deal with imposter syndrome and easier to feel like ur not good enough
in the last year i became a part of that organization and it genuinely destroyed my mental health bc no matter what I tried the leaders in those clubs chose to be toxic and put you and everybody else down instead of giving constructive criticism and lift you up as an organization or club should and honestly for so long i stayed bc i thought it would look good but it doesnt bc schools recognize these clubs are resume padders and also bc even through i did stay i realized i wouldn't ever put these people as verifiers for my applications bc ik if they were contacted unlike the 20 other verifiers I have, these guys would be sitting around to genuinely bash me - bc thats what they do, they try to make you feel less to take out the competition and this is not a baseless claim or anything I literally have proof from our meetings bc they openly said this
so pls be careful of putting yourselves in clubs with toxic environments
- mods you can take this down if theyre clearly pressuring you or if u want but this isn't related to high school, it isnt spamming or soliciting, it isnt being disrespectful but a genuine experience that was shared, this wasn't a sample size n = 1 bc they've had to rehire entire teams bc more than one person felt like this and quit last yr, this isn't misleading bc i have proof and im not crossposting or on a witch hunt bc i honestly just wanted to put it out there as a warning - it doesn't break any of the rules listed
its hard as a premed, especially when you're in circumstances like the first in your family to even make it to higher education, or children of immigrant parents, or coming from a low-income background - dont waste your mental health worse by joining clubs that are essentially resume padders, instead go volunteer in actual charities, it's not only an incredible experience to have but it will look better on your application in the long run
If any of you are planning on applying to any of the 4 youth organizations id take a second to reconsider.
I was a former memeber and this is not good organization to be a part of.
First of all a bunch of it is "non-profit" where they dont essentially do much outside of posting on social media and is essentially a box to check off for the bunch of premeds that are running it. If you want to make an actual contribution to ur community go volunteer somewhere thats legit, not this.
Second of all their leaders are horrible. They have no clue what they want, they cant give any feedback, and whats worse every meeting theyll basically go over what u did and the only thing that comes out of their mouths are insults - ive literally sat in meetings where one the presidents have looked at a post a student worked on and went ew no who even approved this, this is not good - it really wasnt that bad of a post and theres a better way to phrase something like that - theyre excuse is that theyre just honest and its for the benefit of the club and their "standards" when in reality they dont even know what they want - you can literally ask them for specific feedback and theyll mumble and pretend to know some shit and give u a bad an answer that doesnt touch anywhere
Third of all the leaders of this club, who by the way all they do is sit around meetings to delegate work so they dont need to do much, but will expect way more of than whats required of a volunteer job, im talking 2-3 hour sometimes hour and a half meetings a week and if you spend time making something for them they expect u to work on it for like 2-3 hours - theyre excuse is that u need to put effort in and its for the quality and to meet club "standards" but clearly they dont know that quality doesnt mean quantity - oh and after all that effort no matter how good it is, they'll find something horrible to comment on about what u came up with and humiliate you in front of the whole team
Basically this is just not a good organization and its filled with horrible leaders that create a toxic environment
Im not saying this is indicative of everyone's experince but considering they've had to rehire entire teams this yr - its a bit indicative of some ppls experince - so just a warning before u apply
