Characters & Arcs Grid

I tried to avoid dupes as much as possible. Of course Blackbeard is a major antagonist but I didn't want to rob Doflamingo who I also really like. Blackbeard is just by far the most interesting character in the series for me personally.

Loki is already my favorite side character even though Elbaf hasn't finished yet

Wano having the best start is also fucking crazy given how much I hate it. Seriously, what a fumble 😭

My personal grid

Some categories I think might be asked about:

Overhated: Demon Slayer is of course extremely popular, but it gets loads of hate from elitists, which I think is completely unwarranted. It's not like anyone is going around saying Demon Slayer is some masterpiece of storytelling or philosophy, it just does the simple things incredibly well, and loads of people hate on it purely because it isn't complex, which is not inherently a bad thing. Legitimate criticisms of the series are often overlooked or buried among superfluous ones in my experience.

Underrated: Delicious in Dungeon! I have no idea how this isn't much more popular, I think it's better than Frieren (comparison as they're in a similar niche), yet Frieren is #1 and Dungeon Meshi isn't even in the top 100. For anyone who's anime-only, don't worry, it doesn't peak in Season 1, it gets a lot better.

Overrated: I picked Golden Wind as the image because it's probably my least favorite out of parts 2, 3, 4, and 5. I think Giorno is a milquetoast protagonist and Diavolo is a milquetoast antagonist. I've only fully seen the first five parts, but I do think Jojo is quite overrated as a whole. I wasn't invested enough to finish Part 6, but i plan on watching Part 7 once it's fully airing due to all the hype.

Criminally Overlooked: Ikoku Nikki/Journal with Witch. It's just an incredibly intimate, extremely focused story filled with emotionally mature characters. Really refreshing.

Best Romance: Honestly, Bloom Into You is just the only dedicated romance I've actually seen as of yet 😭(I still thought it was good, but it didn't blow me away. I'm gonna watch some more romance in the future)

Want to talk about: Unfortunately, I've picked Violet Evergarden for kind of a negative reason here. I thought that the anime's run of episodes was incredible, but that the movie completely ruined what I originally thought was going to be Violet's path of character development, and consequently removed any actual message or theme that the story could have had. Wondering if anyone else thinks the same.

If anyone has questions about my other picks or disagrees with me, let me know! :)

East Blue Luffy (One Piece) vs. The Seven (The Boys)

Round 1: Fight takes place in a deserted Loguetown, random battle with both sides going in blind.

Round 2: Fight takes place in a deserted Loguetown, The Seven have full knowledge on Luffy's abilities and weaknesses.

Round 3: Fight takes place in a deserted Loguetown, The Seven have full knowledge on Luffy's abilities and weaknesses. As an additional handicap, Luffy's resistance to blunt force is disabled.

Round 4: Fight takes place in a deserted Arlong Park, same conditions as Round 3.

Bonus Round 1: Black Cat Pirates vs. A-Train & The Deep (Arena: Syrup Village)

Bonus Round 2: Don Krieg Pirates vs. Queen Maeve & Black Noir (Arena: Baratie)

Bonus Round 3: Arlong Pirates vs. Homelander & Soldier Boy (Arena: Arlong Park)

Who Wins? (If you can't be bothered answering each round, a general verdict is fine)
