Planning to apply for PhD Psychology at Christ University Bangalore, need guidance from current PhD students/alumni

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to apply for the PhD Psychology program at Christ University, Bangalore, but I honestly have very little idea about the whole application and selection process. I think the last date for application is around June 12/14, so I’m trying to understand everything quickly.

I’m from Hyderabad and I wanted to ask a few things from people who are currently doing a PhD there or have already gone through the process:

  1. How is the entrance exam conducted?

- Is it online from home or do we have to travel to a test center/campus?

- If it’s offline, where are the centers usually located?

  1. What kind of questions are asked in the entrance test?

- Is it mostly Research Methodology and Statistics?

- Are there subject-based psychology questions too?

- How difficult is the exam overall?

  1. What should I prepare if I don’t have prior research experience?

I have academic knowledge in psychology but I haven’t done major research work/publications yet, so I’m nervous about the interview and research-related questions.

  2. What kind of questions are usually asked in the interview/viva?

- Do they expect a full research proposal?

- Will they ask detailed statistics and research methodology questions?

- Do they focus more on your interest area or technical knowledge?

  1. They’re asking to send a CV and research topic to a Gmail ID.

    What exactly are they expecting?

- Just a broad research interest/topic?

- Or a proper proposal with objectives, hypothesis, methodology, etc.?

If any current PhD Psychology students from Christ University (or applicants from previous years) could share their experience, preparation tips, or even the pattern of the selection process, it would really help me a lot.

Thank you!
