I feel like I should have just taken this week off!

I’m getting orders but they are all TERRIBLE. My AR was at 4% at one point today.

Also, is it just me or does your AR percentage drop way faster now? I used to be able to decline quite a few orders before my AR goes down a peg.

It was dropping fast today though! I would decline one order and it would go down. I usually have a few more declines before it drops another percentage but it dropped again after just one!

My red card was updated to a new card number the other day.

The days leading up to it I had two instances of it being declined.

My options were to either drop the order I already spent the time shopping and lose 50% of the pay, or pay for it myself and get reimbursed.

Getting reimbursed has been an absolute shit experience.
Iv been denied every time and have had to be on the phone or chat with support for Loooooong periods of time. They make it so complicated. They ask for info that they should already have.

This happened last week and I’m still working with chat to resolve the issue.

ALWAYS SAVE YOUR RECEIPTS EVEN AFTER YOU SUBMIT A REINBURSEMENT FORM ! Bc they will ask for a pic of it 20 more times.

So I feel like it’s always the final item of my shop that’s out of stock.

I send the customer substitution options, wait…..call them and leave a voicemail, wait….then i message them that I’m leaving it off the order and head to checkout.

WHILE IM IN THE CAR EN ROUTE they message asking about substitutions!!!

I’m confused because the app notifies them when you are on the way and you’ve finished the order, right?
I also send status texts.

Do you think there was just a delay in the app notifications or is this customer just oblivious?

I’m just curious why Grosse Pointe isn’t a zone?

I deliver there all the time from Roseville.

There’s Kroger’s there so I’m just curious why it’s not a zone.

Or is it just “full” and I can’t see it?

Pro shoppers:

I’ve noticed lately that if I am shopping for multiple people in a bundled order, they won’t tell me which order belongs to which person?

For example, I found an item on one of my customers’ list, but not the entire quantity they wanted.

I wanted to ask them if they wanted a different brand of chicken thighs to supplement the quantity, but I literally had no idea which one of my three customers was buying the chicken???

I tried going to the Home Screen, toggling back to the order overview….nothing. And the support bot was no help at all.

So I ended up just buying the items on the list, even though they were going to be shorted a few.

I could have swore we used to be able to sub extra items to make up for the shorted quantity?

TLDR: bundled shopping orders won’t let me see what items belong to which name?

So I started yesterday and am frankly appalled at the $6-$10 pay for large shopping orders with long distances.

What am i missing here? I thought Shipt was a good gig? Is this bc im new and haven’t got to the 10 order threshold yet? I did a few that were nearby yesterday just to get some deliveries under my belt.

I also heard that some shoppers map out and plan out their whole day based on available orders. But mine are only realized within the hour, so i am not able to plan out my whole work day, despite scheduling myself for the whole day. Is this also a newbie thing?

I’ve recently got back into dashing after taking an about 5 years off.

I must say, the app has made many improvements!

Anyway, I’m wondering if there’s others out there like me that just HATE working regular 9-5 jobs and / or working for / with other people

To preface, I’m 41 (😮‍💨) and an artist (also married to a spouse with steady income- but I def still need to work to contribute). Since graduating with a BFA way back in 2007, I have had rent / bills to pay, so always had to work full time, which always put on a strain on my art practice. (Back “in my day,” college was expected, no questions asked - no matter how illiterate you and your parents were regarding student loans. I still treasure / value that time in my life, but the student loans are a bummer).

Fast forward….

It seems that since the pandemic, I don’t stay at one job for too long. I was at this last one for 3 years, which is decent for me post pandemic. Could also just be a flighty “artist” trait.

My job was a cook at a small family-run place (super toxic family dynamics and ridiculously low pay - like I can make the same if not more dashing even after taxes / gas. I took it I. As a passion project - big mistake). Also, restaurant work is wearing on my body foreal..

I’ve applied for other jobs, but honestly I’m kind of excited to just dash again. I can work on my own terms, have time and energy to make art as well as focus on my health (always would fall by the wayside working full time for others). Can even apply for artist residencies, which isn’t really possible if you have e a 9-5 depending on you.

I often see a diverse age range out there dashing, but I wonder how much of you are in a similar mindset as me?

OR AM I JIST A BIG FREAKING LOSER 😂
