how to approach discussion during final offer stages

happy weekend guys wanted to get some inputs.

I was made redundant in April with end of service date in June. so was legally employed with old employer and getting paid salary.

Meantime I was with a very long interview process with another company and everything has went well. The ref checks are done too and now I expect a formal offer.

how should I open the subject with the new employer as they will know when / if they contact the old company on the duration of work ?

confused on how to handle this and did I do a mistake by not declaring my redundancy from the start ?

grateful for the inputs 🙏🏻

Unable to pay debts when on DMP

Does anyone know what happens when you are unable to meet debt obligations when on DMP due to job loss?

cleared $100K in the last 3 years and now can’t pay anymore with just about $27K left from the DMP.

at what stage do the banks take action in terms of say making someone bankrupt?

i am paying what i can at this time till I get a new job so it means that i am willing to work with the banks .. Have already discussed with CCS to see how they can help.

thank you for ur comments

Performance hardly matters in today’s corporate life

good day my people!

I was made redundant even after achieving 20% + of my quota starting beginning of the year and the first quarter.. still in shock and shame!

my colleague a lady who is low performing and has no product knowledge whatsoever was allowed to keep her job .. she’s almost paid as much as me with half the quota targets.. now they are telling her to do my job too with a small raise which she might have to accept As the job market is dookey.. She is very shrewd and political , I just couldn’t compete with her on that front as I am a straight up guy with no special effects !

What I learnt in corporate is that you need to be political and connect with the right people and be visible.. hard work rarely makes a difference if you don’t have the right connections.. what do you guys think?

anyone going through this ?

In Dilemma about being made redundant!

dear all, wanted your opinion on something.

have been put through the ringer for almost 2 months and multiple interviews with a company, I am close to getting an offer or maybe not :(

The issue is that I hadn’t told the new company with whom I was interviewing that I was made redundant as I was still doing my 3months notice and officially employed there even now till I finish the notice / garden leave period.

how can I open this subject with the new employer or should I not mention it at all at this stage ?

thank you for your help and inputs..

Debt burden after losing my job to restructuring

Happy Sunday ..

I have recently been retrenched and have no saving at all ,

maybe can survive for a month or two taking loan from friends.

I have been on DMP since 2024 and was paying on time, cleared 100K and still need to pay 30K which is still a big amount..

what happens if I am unable to pay for next few months as my priority is food , shelter and utility now till I find a new role?

thanks a lot for ur comments
