Assault case - am i screwed?
Hello, It's me Annoud from Bangladesh, absolute shitshow last night. Dropped off this chick in Stafford, she was proper keen the whole trip, kept "accidentally" brushing against me. Ended up sorting some business in the back seat after I parked. Next thing I know her mates are ringing the cops saying I "forced" it or whatever. Charged me with sexual assault, got a court date in a couple weeks.
I reckon it's not fair and also racism and I'll beat it easy (haven't been found guilty yet obviously), but do I need to report this incident to Uber? Still out here grinding deliveries cos bills don't pay themselves. Don't wanna get the boot over some lying customer who changed her mind after.
Any other drivers had a "misunderstanding" like this? How did Uber react? Help a bloke out before I go full doordash.
Swapped out wifes cooking for a thai food meal in Brisbane last night
The rain drummed on my Corolla as I dashed through Brisbane on Wednesday night. My wife had cooked her annoying curry again. I couldn’t stand it. So when I picked up that Thai green curry order in Fortitude Valley, I made the swap in a quiet side street.
I dumped her curry into the Thai restaurant’s plastic bag, then devoured the real Thai food in two minutes flat. Proper good it was. My wife’s curry went straight into the thermal bag to stay hot.
First delivery in Tenerife. The customer opened the door, sniffing. “This smells… different.”
All night I fed the same bullshit: “special fusion night,” “chef’s secret twist,” “app glitch on the order.” Brisbane customers were too tired or polite to argue. No one caught on.
By 11pm I was parked in New Farm, belly full of stolen Thai and Chinese food from Fortitude valley, grinning as another ping came through. Wife’s curry was long gone and an extra contain of plain rice I brought was delivered as Chinese food to some lady at Morningside haha— I swiped accept on the next job.
Easy money and such a good dinner for me. People really are too stupid.
the smell
how bad is it?
seems i hear many stories of poor hygeine?
Want Hot food?
If you want your pizza or macdonalds to be hot when you receive it, Go downstairs and pick it up of the wet drive way yourself. You might even burn enough calories to stop complaining.
You expect restaurant-quality service from someone juggling 2–3 Uber orders, plus DoorDash at the same time? Be serious..lol this is capitalism
If you want piping hot food delivered directly into your hands the second it arrives, go get it yourself, or better yet, cook your own dinner.
One-star attitude, five-star expectations from these broke aussie non-tippers got me 😂
Cold Chips - SO what?
I am 22, fresh from Dhaka in bangladesh, and driving Uber Eats here in Brisbane. The locals get so incredibly angry over the smallest things, it is pure comedy.
Let me tell you about an order i did yesterday afternoon at Carindale in brisbaneI pick up a massive family-sized Hungry Jack’s order from the hungry jacks leave my thermal bag empty on the back seat.I put the paper bag right in front of the passenger side air vent.
It is a cool brisbane afternoon, brother. Like 12 degrees Celsius outside. I crank my car's air conditioning down to the lowest setting, and aim the vents directly at the burgers. Then, I take driving the speed limit at 60 kilometers per hour. By the time I drive the 8 kilometers to the house, those chips are completely frozen from the AC blast. But I I took a sip of the coke from the customers cup, do you think he will find out?
Free chips
If your name is Darren.L and you ordered Grill'd to mt cotton last night, yes i ate your chips, they didnt put stickers on the bag so i had free access, but I hope you enjoyed the burger!
Life as a Bangladeshi Uber driver in Melbourne
The ping on my phone says chicken biryani from Jackson Heights. It is a 20-minute drive. I do not care.
I accept the ride, but first, I pull over to finish my tea. The customer sends a message: "Are you moving?" I ignore it. I am speaking to my cousin in Dhaka on my Bluetooth headset. We are discussing property prices. It is a very loud, very long conversation.
When I finally arrive at the restaurant, the brown paper bag is steaming. The worker slides it across the counter. I grab it with one hand, tossing it onto the front passenger seat of my Toyota Camry. I do not use an insulated bag. Those bags cost money, and this food is not for me.
I start the car. I roll all four windows down because I like the breeze, even though it is chilly outside. The cold wind blasts directly into the open top of the paper bag. The steam disappears in seconds. The grease on the container begins to harden.
My phone vibrates. It is the customer again. "Please hurry, I am starving."
I smile and slide the phone face down.
Instead of taking the highway, I take the side streets. I know the highway is faster, but I prefer this route. I drive 10 miles per hour under the speed limit. At every green light, I slow down just in case it turns yellow. I stop at a gas station to buy betel leaf. The engine stays off for five minutes. The biryani is now the exact same temperature as the car seat.
When I finally pull up to the high-rise building, I do not get out. I press the horn twice.
The customer runs out in socks, shivering. I roll down the window an inch and push the cold, soggy paper bag through the gap. The bottom of the bag is wet from condensation.
"It took you forty minutes," the man says, looking into the bag with horror. "The food is ice cold."
I look him dead in the eye, put my car in drive, and adjust my headset. "Please give five stars," I say, and hit the gas before he can reply.
Carry a stapler
If you break the staples in the bag you get free food and then re staple it and customer won't know or report you.
This is all hypothetical of course.
Sick of being ignored for food pick ups
AITAH?
I left this 1 star review in a sushi restaurant in Brisbane today due to their incompetence
Left uber eats drivers waiting for 15 minutes with very little communication for 1 meal, poor form guys. The meal was ready and sitting in a bag the whole 15 minutes and your manager told you i wss there for thst order, she was ignored.Your customer recieved cold food by the way.As hber eats drivers We get paid for orders delivered and not the 15 minute wait time, Thanks to your long wait times I was left not being paid properly for 15 minutes. This affects my ability to support my family. As hber gives us no recourse or refund the only option I have is a 1 star review to warn other drivers about the waiting times.
I DONT CARE ANYMORE
