Model Y Performance Tires costco

About 36K miles on my Model Y and the rear tires are showing some thread. The front tires still have some life in them.

I’m debating if I should replace them all with new tires at Tesla service center vs Costco Tire center.

Cost of Michelin Pilot A/S
At Tesla: $1850
At Costco: $1709 + 10% cash back using my credit card (limited time promotion)

Question: Does Costco centers have the know how to handle the staggered tesla tires?

Any reasons I should prefer one over another?

MYP owners with aftermarket wheels and tires, post pics and reviews!

Title, getting rid of the uberturbines shortly and trying to see what setup everyone’s done, if you like it, range / comfort reviews, etc.

I’ve replaced 2 uberturbines, spent over $1k getting them fixed (cracks / bends), they gotta go!

Edit: pic for attn, while on fsd car smoked an unidentified large chunk of metal, ruined rim and tire

Skid Plate

Has anyone installed skid plates for your Model Y Performance (Juniper)? If so, which ones do you recommend? And did you get skid plates for the coolant lines as well?

PPF question

Planning on getting Xpel matte PPF. Is there a noticeable difference choosing a company that applies precut with extended edges vs custom cut? Is it worth the extra money for custom?

Thanks.

Second Failed Delivery

Has anyone else had to turn down multiple deliveries? The first had large scratches all along the rear hatch and a factory paint defect on the pillar. The second has black and pink paint on the front passenger side of the vehicle. Very frustrating, but I’m reluctant to accept a new vehicle that requires paint correction.

Update: 3rd vehicle had the same spray paint issue. Tesla has a delivery problem moving cars via rail.

Is it bad to regularly charge a Model Y Performance to 100% if it’s mainly used for long family trips?

Hi everyone,

I have a question about charging my Tesla Model Y Performance.

Tesla recommends keeping the charge limit at 80% for daily driving, but in my case, the vehicle is not used as a daily driver. We mainly use it for long family road trips, so most of the time when I charge it at home with the Mobile Connector, I charge it to 100% to maximize the available range.

One important detail is that I live in Mexico, where the Supercharger network is still not as widespread as it is in the U.S. or some other countries. Public charging options can also be limited depending on the route, so I usually rely on having a full charge before leaving home to comfortably complete my trips and avoid range anxiety.

Because of this, it’s quite common for me to charge the vehicle to 100% before a trip. My concern is whether doing this regularly could significantly accelerate battery degradation over the long term, or if it’s generally fine as long as the car doesn’t sit at 100% for extended periods before I start driving.

I’d love to hear from owners who are in a similar situation, especially those who live in areas with limited charging infrastructure and primarily use their Tesla for road trips rather than daily commuting.

Thanks in advance!

Lowering Mod Kits

2026 Model Y Performance:

Unplugged Performance flush kit with moderate springs or Mountain Pass Performance coilover conversion kit with spacers and rear camber arm?

Which one and why?

MVPA - “New - Previous service/demo vehicle”

I recently purchased a new Model Y Performance, but it arrived with damage that required a full front bumper replacement.
The MVPA (Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement) lists the vehicle as a previous service/demo car. However, the dealer insists it was brand new and only got damaged during delivery from the factory. Tesla is offering a discount to account for the repair, but something feels off.
Is it possible the car was originally flagged as a demo/service vehicle at the factory and later changed to inventory status? Or could the “previous service/demo” label have been applied because of the repair work?
Has anyone else experienced something similar with a Tesla delivery? Would appreciate any insight. Thanks!

Lowering MYP

Considering Unplugged Performance moderate lowering spring or Mountain Pass Performance coilover kit. Besides the price difference can anyone vouch for which might be the better option?

VIN Removed from App

Has anyone been assigned a VIN then later had it removed? How long until a new one was assigned? Delivery was supposed to be a week ago and keep rolling a day each day and now I no longer have a VIN assigned. Very frustrating. NorCal if that makes a difference. Thanks!

$6200 for 4 side/rear XRB window tint, 8 year ceramic XPEL coating and full XPEL stealth PPF.

Is this a decent deal?

Also does anyone have recommendations for Fusion plus satin ceramic coating vs XPEL premium ceramic coating on a stealth PPF?

Thanks!

Looking at potentially buying a Model Y Performance and trying to decide if the new Juniper refresh is actually worth paying more for versus buying a lightly used older model.

A few things I’m curious about from people who have driven/owned both. Read up a lot on them and have seen a lot of stated improvements.

  • Is the interior materially nicer, or is it mostly the same with minor cosmetic tweaks?
  • Is the ride quality/suspension really that much better, or is it being overstated?
  • Is cabin noise noticeably improved?
  • How much better is overall build quality/fit and finish?
  • Any other meaningful upgrades I may be overlooking besides the obvious facelift?
  • Is the sound system really better?

My hesitation is that I can find used pre-refresh Ys for significantly less and not deal with depreciation of a used.

Would love honest opinions from anyone who has driven both.
