Optilume and Future Fertility

Hi everyone,

I’m a 37-year-old male and I’m scheduled to have the Optilume drug-coated balloon procedure for a urethral stricture.

My urologist advised me to wait 3 months before trying for a baby. However, I read that the FDA recommends waiting at least 6 months because of the paclitaxel coating.

I’m okay with waiting 6 months. My main concern is whether this procedure can affect my ability to become a father in the future.

I wanted to ask people who have had Optilume:

  1. Did your doctor advise you to wait 3 months or 6 months?
  2. Has anyone successfully conceived or had a baby after Optilume?
  3. Did anyone have any fertility or sperm-related problems afterward?
  4. Has anyone done a semen analysis before and after Optilume? Were there any changes?
  5. Did your urologist mention any concerns about having children in the future?

I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been through this and later tried to have a baby.

Am I entering pension income correctly in ITR?

I’m filing my mother’s ITR for AY 2026–27. Her pension statement shows roughly:

Basic Pension: ₹5.8L
DA: ₹3.3L
Arrear DA: ₹7K
Gross Pension: around ₹9.2L

Under B1 – Income From Salary, I entered the gross pension (around ₹9.2L) as Gross Salary, with exempt allowances as ₹0.

The ₹75K deduction u/s 16 gets populated automatically by the ITR portal, bringing income chargeable under Salaries to around ₹8.4L.

Is this the correct way to enter pension income based on the pension statement?

Anyone bought Super Visa insurance directly from Manulife?

I am purchasing Super Visa insurance for my 58-year-old mother who is visiting Canada from India.

I am looking at Manulife's Visitors to Canada / Super Visa insurance through:

https://www.manulife.ca/personal/insurance/our-products/travel-insurance.html

The quote I received is approximately $1,890 for the Enhanced plan with $100,000 coverage.

Has anyone purchased Super Visa insurance directly through this website? Is this the correct and legitimate place to buy Super Visa insurance, or did you use a broker instead?

Thank you.
