Crackling audio after replacing the CPU

I had to RMA my CPU and replaced it with the exact same model. After the replacement, Windows no longer recognized it as genuine and lost its activation/license. I’m not sure if this is related to the problem, but it was another change compared to the period when everything was working fine.

I’ve already tried setting a higher priority for the audiodg.exe process and limiting it to CPU core 0 only. All my inputs and outputs are set to the same sample rate (48 kHz).

What else can I try to fix this? I have to use the “Restart Audio Engine” option every five minutes or so to temporarily stop the audio from crackling.

Random Restarts Cache Hierarchy Error (Event 18) - I've replaced EVERYTHING. Please help

The Problem:

My PC randomly reboots (black screen, no BSOD) when dragging a video from the project panel to the timeline in Adobe Premiere Pro. This is 100% reproducible. Windows Event Viewer shows Cache Hierarchy Error (WHEA-Logger Event 18) on different CPU cores.

The History:

It started with my original Ryzen 5 3600. AMD RMA'd it and gave me a refund. I bought a Ryzen 7 5800X3D with the refund. The problem persisted.

At one point, replacing the PSU fixed it for a few months. Then it came back. Removing an undervolt stabilized it for about a month. Then it came back.

Updated BIOS to the latest version. No change. Disabled DOCP/XMP. No change.

Updated GPU drivers, removed GPU undervolt, disabled hardware acceleration in Premiere. No change.

What I've Already Replaced (yes, everything):

  • CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 → Ryzen 7 5800X3D
  • Motherboard: Multiple models tested (currently Asus TUF Gaming B550M-Plus)
  • RAM: Multiple kits tested (currently Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB 3600MHz)
  • GPU: Multiple models tested (currently RX 5700 XT)
  • PSU: Multiple units tested (currently XPG Core Reactor II 850W Gold)
  • SSD/Storage: Multiple drives tested (currently Adata Legend 860)
  • Monitor: Changed
  • Keyboard/Mouse: Changed
  • Router/Network: Changed
  • Eletric: Changed (even moved to a different house during this process)

What I've Tried Recently:

  • Disabled DOCP (RAM at stock 2133MHz)
  • Removed all undervolts (CPU and GPU)
  • Updated BIOS to latest
  • Clean GPU driver install with DDU
  • Disabled hardware acceleration in Premiere

System Specs:

  • CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3D
  • GPU: RX 5700 XT
  • Mobo: Asus TUF Gaming B550M-Plus
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16) 3600MHz CL18
  • PSU: XPG Core Reactor II 850W Gold
  • Storage: Adata Legend 860 1TB NVMe

Additional Context:

  • The error is 100% reproducible in Premiere Pro (drag video to timeline = instant reboot)
  • Gaming (DayZ, SCUM) and other workloads (Photoshop, Illustrator) are usually stable
  • Event Viewer shows Cache Hierarchy Error (Event 18) with different APIC IDs
  • No BSOD, just instant black screen and reboot

Has anyone ever seen anything like this? I'm at my wit's end after 7 years. Any suggestion, no matter how crazy, is welcome. I'll try literally anything at this point.

I made this deck box for a Kaalia commander deck. Which commanders do you think would be the easiest to sell deck boxes for?

I’m starting a small business making custom handmade leather deck boxes for MTG players.

I’d really appreciate any feedback, design suggestions, or ideas for features that would make these more appealing.

Thanks in advance for any advice!
