18 F [F4M] - US/California/or Online - I'm looking for a long term relationship nearby or online and long distance while I go to college.

My name is Shar, and I'm from Modesto, California (we're known for star wars and that's about it lol). I'm looking for a long term relationship with a serious person who wants to build a bond for the long run. I'm living with my Dad while I'm going to community college to stack up some cash, and I'm studying business administration/accounting. I can be nerdy, I love working out, and I have a lot of hobbies!

I'm an 18 year old mixed African woman, I have curly hair, glasses, and a little sleepy eye if you look too closely lol, and I'm looking to date a guy near my age. F4M means female for male right? I'm around 5'6, I'm slim and a bit toned, and the way I dress kinda varies, I'm classy but I dress based on my mood lol.

I'd like to tell you more about me if we connect. As you can tell I'm a yapper so I'm looking forward to meeting someone! :) <3

I FORGOT: I would like to date someone more near my age, like in the 18-21 range 😅

I want to share insight about how this job market impacts people graduating high school or currently in it.

I don't think that there are many posts about high school students so I wanted to give some information about how this job market negatively impacts us. In this sub there are mostly discussions about graduating college students and working adults because you guys have bills to pay, but I just wanted to share the negative impacts this job market has on people my age too.

When I turned 16 in May 2024 I started applying for jobs. After over 1200 applications (ik, it's small in this job market), I only got 11 interviews and all of the managers ended up rejecting me. In August 2025 I got a job as a tutor by directly emailing a small business in my town, not through an application. Therefore, it took me over a year to get my first job. I needed a second job because I was only making $400 a month so I started looking for another job. I just got a second job this year in April by finding a business owner on Nextdoor. Out of all the job applications I've done on Indeed and on company websites, I got my jobs in the "oddest" ways. In the past two years I've definitely learned that you really need to know people to get a job, or you need to gain contact with people directly.

I'll be going to community college in California to get my associates in business administration for transfer, then I'm going to a CSU to major in the accounting concentration. When I was younger I'll say in my freshman to junior year, I wanted to go to university right away (ex. SJSU, SDSU, Cal Poly) but I'm glad I learned the rough way that it's not the best financial idea considering how screwed this job market is. My dad is a disabled veteran so I'll be receiving CalVet and DEA benefits as his dependent. Therefore, while I'm going to community college I'll be living with him and saving money along with working 2 jobs.

However, my condition is a bit lucky. There are high school students that haven't been able to get a job in 2 years, and many are choosing to go to university, put themselves in debt, and then when they move they may struggle to find jobs. Not all parents can financially support their children, and even if these students get financial aid, they have to pay to live. The rate of students going to community college from last year to this year has increased significantly and I know a lot of that is due to finances, which is good and bad. Let's say you're graduating high school this year but you're choosing to go straight into the workforce. Well, you may struggle to find a job unless you have some good connections. I don't know how it is if you're working in the trades or medical but I've heard getting jobs in those sectors are hard too.

And finally, I'm not confident about the job market in the upcoming 4 years. I've already made over 10 backups plans for if my career field doesn't work out. I'm mentally prepared for working in minimum wage after college even if I'm qualified to do more. I want to become an accountant but if I need to I'll try my best to work in retail banking, hospitality management, retail management, or even the trades if I can't find anything good. Im convinced that we're heading towards a recession. For now I'm choosing to go to a university 20 minutes near me after community college because letting go of my jobs in the next 2-3 years may be risky. What if in the next 4 years this job market trend continues and more people can't get employed? If we were to rebel, how would we go about it? I'm fully willing to lead a movement for this at this point.

I know this post seems a bit poorly arranged because it's difficult for me to let out how complex I think this situation is, but in summary, many high schoolers right now are cooked too.

I'm 18 and I've gotten stage 2 gum disease due to homelessness in my past, neglect, and not being educated on how serious it is to deeply take care of my teeth. I had braces last year and when they came off I began to notice the disease. Since then, I've gotten deep cleanings, my pockets have gone back to healthy lengths, and my disease has stabilized. However, I have one black triangle on my bottom two teeth.

Now that my disease is stabilized, am I allowed to get composite bonding? Can people with periodontal disease get dental bonding?

I'm an upcoming college freshman researching some roles in finance that I may be interested in. I'm studying business administration - accounting to become an accountant, but I want to learn about some more careers I can go into. Right now I'm researching about retail and commerical banking, but I don't have a full grasp of the different roles yet.

Do many people go from university to retail banking and if so, how can they progress or shift career fields?

I'm 18 and I have gotten stage 2 periodontal disease due to homelessness in my past, braces, and the mistake of not being educated on the consequences of neglect. My teeth are straight, I've gotten a deep cleaning, and x-ray work done, but now I just have a small black triangle on my front bottom two teeth.

Now that my disease is stabilized and that I'm taking care of my dental health, is it ok for me to get composite bonding? Is that normal to do, and is it allowed?
