Why was a thyroidectomy the right choice for you? Benefits? Side effects?

I’m curious to learn about people’s experiences and what led them to get a thyroidectomy, how your life improved and any issues? Did anyone get thyroidectomy because you felt awful even with normal blood work?

Bloods normal, but feel awful.

Over the last month I started to notice symptoms which led me to go for a blood test which to my surprise came back normal.

Over the last months I’ve felt really drained and tired, my eyes feel dry and heavy which are the main symptom i currently have. I also feel a lot more breathless than before and my throat feels more full if that makes sense. All I want to do is lay down as I feel really tired.

For context, I had my first relapse earlier last year and since then I’ve been on medication. With my bloods normal my doctor thinks it might be related related to a viral infection or stress/burnout. I have had burnouts before but this does not feel like burnout or stress related.

Has anyone had similar experiences?

Have you ever stepped down from a leadership role back to a lower role?

For those who’ve managed teams, have you ever realised leadership wasn’t the right choice and decided to step down? I’m interested in hearing what made you realise? How long into the role were you? Things you noticed during and after the role?

Was your relapse subtle to begin with? What were the very early signs?

For anyone that has relapsed, as the question asks was it subtle signs to start with and what were early signs?

I have relapsed before, but can’t remember how it started and I think I’m starting to relapse again. I’m awaiting blood test, but sometimes I’m questioning that it’s in my head the signs I’m noticing 😂

I’m very tired lately, dry and heavy eyes, sometimes heart rate is a little high, but also feel like a vibration like feeling throughout body if that makes sense.

Edit : Thank you everyone for the responses, appreciate it ☺️

Driving test wait time?

How long were you waiting for a driving test for anyone who has completed a recent test?

The online site doesn’t give much information.

Advice on buying automatic car? Best brand? Possible under €5k?

I have very little knowledge when it comes to cars so looking for advice on buying my first car.

I want to buy an automatic car for €5k and under if possible. Can stretch the budget a lot more if needed.

What brands should I look out for?
Tips for buying a car?
Dos and don’t?
What should I look out for?
What to avoid?

The car will mostly be used for going to and from work which is a short distance and also longer journey trips maybe once or twice a month.

New driver over 30!insurance cost?

I’m wondering what people have paid for car insurance as a first time driver over 30 with a full license? Trying to gauge average cost of the insurance.
